Leonardo da Vinci // Leonardo // Bar!

So the door opens, as doors are wont to do, and through that door comes hurtling a device the likes of which you've never seen!

...unless you've seen bicycles before.

Riding the bicycle (it appears to have a wooden frame. It's painted garishly yellow) is a young man of about 16 years of age, in bright earth tones of cotton and linen that might be ( Read more... )

Somebody sticks his head out from a sofa, looking at the source of the crashing noise.

The source of the crashing noise is, as previously mentioned, a young man on a bicycle, who's just crashed into a table and fallen off the vehicle.

He's OK, though! He's leaped enthusiatically to his feet and is turning around and around in tight circles, staring at the place.

He hasn't noticed anyone noticing him.

"What are you doing?" the blond man on the sofa enquires.

Alarmed that someone was watching, Leonardo jumps and then turns around to face him.

"Scusi," he says, bowing his head in the deference of an apprentice greeting an older man. "I wasn't looking where I was going and... are you the owner?"

He may be about to gush.

Holy -

Todd, who just a moment ago was comfortably settled in with a notebook and a series of books that may or may not be school-related, pretty much immediately jumps to his feet.

"Are you okay?"

"Si, si." Leo says, scrambling to his feet having just checked that his bicycle is OK.

"I'm fine. Just took a fall, I haven't worked out all the..."

...

That'll be his trailing off as he looks around himself.

"It's, um. It's Milliways?"

He's pretty sure he is the worst at introducing people to here.

"What's Milliways?"

Excuse him, he's totally listening to you, Todd, it's just that the pool table just caught his eye and he's heading that way. Do follow, won't you?

Sam is sitting at a table that's covered in gears and parchment as he's trying to make an idea work and its not cooperating.

He has his linen shirt sleeves rolled up and grabs his table when Leonardo crashes as a few gears roll off, "Charter! Watch where you're going."

"Scusi!" Leo scrambles to his feet, pulls his bicycle up, then is instantly distracted by the gears. He scoops one up and brings it to the table. "What are you working on?"

"Thanks. A couple of different things, Lirael's hand, another flying frog but bigger, and some jewelery. Is that a bicycle? I haven't seen one since I left Ancelstierre,"

Sam gestures to his notes which aren't terribly neat and takes the gears with a smile.

Leonardo takes that gesture as an invitation and swaps the gears for the notebook, which deserves closer study.

"Yeah, that's my bicycle... wait, you've seen one before?"

He pulls his attention away from the book to stare. Did someone make one from his notebook?

Normally, Alisa is quick enough to get out of peoples' way when they're about to run into her whilst she is invisible; bicycles that come hurtling into bars with which she is still getting acquainted do not count on the list of things she is fast enough to dodge.

And so, there is an 'oof' when she falls trying to avoid Leo's bike, and cuts her arm in the process. It's a very odd sight, the narration has to note, to see a bleeding arm--or rather, to see the bleeding, and not the arm itself--and the shapes of fingertips as they try to stem the first dribbles of red, ending up just smearing it against her palm and forearm.

"Scusi!" Is Leonardo's first reaction on first realising he's hit someone. He sprawls on the floor and rapidl scrambles to stand up, not quite sure if her can believe his eyes at the red.

"Er, hello?"

She bites her lip at first, not sure if she wants to speak and give herself away, but she's already kind of visible, and there's not much she can do to convince Leo she really isn't there.

"I'm here," comes the answering female voice, as she--and the smear of red, as a result--scoot back into a corner before forcing herself back into visibility, a smooth dark-skinned girl balled up and holding a cut hear her elbow. She doesn't have clothes, but nothing's really showing because of the way she's curled in on herself.

"Oh!" Wait, naked girl. Naked girl is bad.

Leonardo is nothing but a gentleman, so already he's tearing off his shirt for her.

"Scusa! I really didn't see you. I don't know how I didn't see you, it was like you were invisible."

Have a shirt, lady! You may need it.

"Make sure you would not damage the bar's property with that strange bicycle," says a tall dark-haired man in black clothes who is leaning against the bar, a battle-axe at his side.

"I'll try not to," says the crash victim, scrambling to his feet in much the same way he's done for every thread so far.

"I wasn't... wait, you know what this is?"

He gives the axe-wielding gentlemen a curious look. "Have we met?"

ostro_goth August 13 2011, 20:19:04 UTC
"No, we have not," the axe-man says. "I have seen them often in future worlds. So they are newly invented at the time you are from?"

"This is my prototype."

He totally made up that word, too.

"So they catch on, do they? Fantastico!"
