"Have you made any progress toward your previously stated goals?"

There is a man nearby who may look familiar. He nods and smiles at Kai as he passes.

"Evening."

"Hello," said Kai looking up from his work, "Do I know you?"

"I don't think so, unless we met in a different timeline." Guppy says, offering a hand. "Dr Guppy Sandhu."

"Kai of the Brunnen G," he said wiping old bug goo off his hand before shaking Guppy's.

"Perhaps in the last cycle of time we met," said Kai.

Data is sitting a few tables away, with his cat.

He has been watching Kai for a little while before he greets, "Hello."

"This is Spot," he says, holding up his pet. "He is a cat. More specifically, he is a housecat-- species designation felis catus."
