Julian's sitting at a corner table with his sketchbook, working on a rendering of the Bar.

He keeps glancing over at the young man with the wings. He's picking up sensations of something like dread, and it makes him morbidly curious.

He's not likely to approach him at this point, though.

Dread and desire mixed together in some inhumane twisting.

At one point, when Alex is glancing over his shoulder he meets Julian's eyes.

That's the sort of thing that Julian has always found very intriguing.

Julian stares back, unflinchingly, for quite a while, before greeting quietly,

"Hello."

The boy's stare is a bit blank and dead.

"Hello," he says back.

((SO! Alex is TOTALLY not someone who should be talking to Fry. As in Alex is completely psychotic, deranged, highly abused, and makes Teatime from Hogfather look well adjusted.

His master is even worse.

Love Fry. This would break the poor kid. If only because Alex would prey upon him worse than any school bully would, just for shits and giggles.

Maybe Marlina might be better for him to talk to?))

Fry glances at the woman mending her armour.

"If it's soft enough to sew, doesn't that mean the enemy's weapons will go through?" he asks after a while.

((<3))

"It's more like you need a very strong needle. Also it's easier to go through a small point than a large point. A blade has a thicker edge to it than a needle."

"Pressure equals force over area, so that makes sense, providing your enemy is not attacking you with for example a crossbow bolt sharpened to a fine point." Fry says, looking down at the armour.

"We watched a video in which an elephant and a ballet player step on polystyrene, and found that the elephant makes a mark less deep."

She gets a bit of a wry smile on her face. "No armor can protect against everything," she says as she sews. "If it did, it would probably be unwearable.

She isn't sure what an elephant is or a ballet player is or polystyrene is but she gets the general idea. "Yes. Or like snow shoes."
