minor spoilers for "Scream 4" - more minor than it mght look, I promisemm_catslashApril 16 2011, 17:30:47 UTC
Chloe came into Milliways about thirty seconds ahead of Tom, giving her just enough space to turn and blink at the commotion behind her.
Then her expression changes from mildly confused to mildly put-upon. Trust Milliways to prove her wrong.
Whatever. At least Rachel was nice and quiet during the movie. And Chloe still has her knife, sticky with Rachel's blood. It's a good knife, nice long blade, ideal for sliding through a zombie's eye and into its brain.
Which might just happen, if this guy can't hold them back.
[OOC: My internet access is sporadic. Slowtimes are inevitable, but I will do my best to keep up. Oh, and Kirsten Bell doppelganger shenanigans are totally welcome.]
There's blood on her hands, and the knife, and swiped over the front of her shirt like she'd wiped her hands on it. Considering how up close she got with the first couple of zombies, Tom might be forgiven for assuming it's all zombie blood.
Then again, she hasn't wiped her hands on her shirt in the last few minutes, either.
"Good thing they weren't the running kind," she says reflectively. "We wouldn't have stood a chance."
Chloe doesn't quite have a stated opinion on fast zombies versus slow, but she feels instinctively that allowing one's zombies the ability to run is cheating.
Chloe doesn't have any pressing engagements at the moment. Time is still on the other side, so she doesn't have to worry about rigor mortis setting in for Rachel, or anyone finding her before Chloe has decided what to do with her, or getting the couch clean.
She bled more than Chloe thought she would.
So she sits down, too.
A few seconds later, a waitrat shows up to deposit hand towels, soap, and a basin of warm water on the table, glares at them both, and then scurries off.

Chloe steps away from the door to hand Tom's gun back to him, remembering (at the last second) to aim it away from him as she does so.
"Does that happen a lot on your world?"
Reply
He tucks his guns into his back pockets and scrubs his palms on his jeans.
". . . You're not Elle, huh."
Reply
"No."

Yeah, what's up with the knife, anyway?
"Well, uh, I'm Tom. Thanks."

She smiles.
"I was just telling a friend of mine how zombie movies aren't realistic, too. I guess I forgot about Milliways."
Reply
"They're plenty realistic. I sure as hell wish they were unrealistic."

"Okay how about we not talk about all the ways that could've been worse. --I need to sit down."
His hands are starting to shake from the adrenaline crash. He grabs for a nearby empty chair.

"So no zombies where you're from?"
Reply
"If you're from a zombie movie," she says, "then I guess I'm from a slasher flick."
She smiles and picks up a towel, dabbing it in the water.

He's guessing from the way she handled that knife that she's not the sexy blonde who gets killed in the first reel.
Reply
She puts the knife down to wipe her hands clean first, saying reassuringly (she thinks),
"But only at home."

Then she pauses in her hand-wiping to frown at her knife.
"Is the blood contagious?"
Is she going to have to get a new knife? She'd rather not have to wait around to kill people twice.
