Moving forward.

At the end of every year I'm amazed at how quickly the year has gone; this year was the quickest of them all, having passed in a blur. I think it's due to my job, and how busy we were in 2015, with almost constant (read: four nights a week and at least a couple of hours on the weekend) overtime. The extra cash in my pay packet came in handy and I ( Read more... )

Loved Father Brown stories, but sadly the series isn't available here.

Wow, you're going to New Zealand...that's a trip I'd love to go on, well to Australia too.

If you're going to be anywhere near Wellington, you should meet up with Laurose8.

Here's a toast to an easier year to you my friend, and much pleasantness and prosperity in your life...and work being easier!

New Zealand is so beautiful... we often joke that it's really the eight Australian state, but in reality I'd hate for that to happen. We'd mine the crap out of the place and clear-fell the forests, totally ruining it in the process.
On this trip we won't be any further south than Lake Taupo I'm afraid.

Had a look at Utopia, which I've not heard of - I think it'd push up my blood pressure too, and I don't work for a corporation! Looks good, if you can stand it... *g* Ack for your huge lack of holidays too - extra money's nice, but downtime is also good, so here's wishing you as much as you would like (at the same time as still having a job that you enjoy!) for 2016, for lots of telly and relaxation - and travel! New Zealand - brilliant!

Thanks for your wishes, it's exactly what I'm hoping for myself.
Utopia is brilliant satire with an edge of reality to it that's quite scary. Set in the office of the national infrastructure dept of the government, and you see the government interference at every step of the way.

Your travel plans sound wonderful and long overdue. :D

I've never heard of Utopia before but after watching that clip I know I couldn't watch it. I spent enough time working for corporate America that it's a documentary to me.

If you've worked in any sort of large organisation you can relate to Utopia but after a day of dealing with people like that you don't want to come home and watch it on the telly. I found it strangely addictive though, in a kind of look-they-have-it-worse-than-me kind of way.
