Off to bed

After 2am so I should toddle off - but I'm halfway through an engrossing Sherlock fic and just want to get it finished. Found a rec for it while faffing about on tumblr earlier tonight. It's actually gen, although you could read it as pre-slash, and rather good - The Road of Bones. Sherlock needs surgery and in the leadup to the operation John ( Read more... )

AWWW SO CUTE! Hey you may want to lock down your journal to 'friends only' temporarily as LJ is being hacked big time by the Russians. The site could possibly go down....stay turned.

Sleep well!

Isn't he cute! I'm assuming it's a he, due to the size and the fact that his nose seems quite scarred, which I imagine is from fighting other males.

From what I've seen (see replies to previous post) it's only communities that have been spammed. So far... *crosses fingers*

No journals are being hit. Spikesgirl got slammed last week, and others have mentioned having Russian posts to their journals.

He's a possum. They often get in between the upstairs and downstairs of my house and I'll hear them bashing around, it's quite unnerving if you don't expect it. I should block the hole they're using to access the space, but I'm always worried I'll inadvertently block one in.

I'll say it again, Aussie possums are far cuter than the US ones. *g*

That's exactly what I was thinking! Australian possums are adorable, US possums are scary weird. :^)

American ones look like they were Frankensteined together from other animals. :D

What a cute little visitor. Perhaps he was lonely, or looking for his mate who crawled into the hole. Would it have come from the park behind you?

Will check out that Sherlock fic later. Thanks.

It could have - I see (or at least, hear) them around a lot, I've just not seen them up on the porch before. Year before last I was able to photograph a mum with baby on her back, that was pretty special.

Possum! You know I lived for years in rural Australia, and I don't remember ever seeing one - but since then I've seen them being completely unfussed about living in cities. Maybe they've just been cool urban dudes all along... *g*

ETA - I don't care what Dennis Waterman's character is called, he'll always be Terry to me

This is the first place I've lived where I've seen possums regularly, and I've also lived in some pretty rural places - where the biggest obstacles on the golf course are the kangaroos, for example! I'd only been here for a couple of days when I saw my first possum though.

I will never forget sitting in a hotel room in Bayswater, London, and absently watching Minder while packing up my bag - and there was Terry, going into the pub that was literally just down the road from my location. It was such a weird feeling!
