Aargh! What is it about this time of year that has me sneezing and wheezing and all hay-fevery - it's autumn for goodness sake! There's no pollen about! But every single year this happens, late March / early April, and persists for weeks. I don't know what it is that's setting me off but I wish it would just Go Away ( Read more... )

decisions, banking, travel, this is a bad bad idea, family, new zealand, work

Erk for pollen and yeay for air miles, and potentially also for your roadside assistance sounding quite cool. I wish ours gave away free trips... okay, actually I'm not in it any more, but I might have been if they did that! *g*

The air miles schemes over here are pretty rubbish, and it's almost impossible to get seats when you do qualify, so I've not bothered here. I did like my Alaska Air Miles though, and I'm hoping they're sneaking up further as I add their partner airlines to the account... hoping also it's still active, actually!

Love the sound of all your trips, I'm all wanderlusty from it... *g*

I wasn't very clear, above... the roadside assistance offers discount travel, while Qantas points - frequent flyer points - are honoured by Qantas but can be collected in heaps of ways (sadly not through roadside assistance).

So when I'm booking the river cruise, if I use the RACQ booking service I'll get it cheaper than I would otherwise, and if I book my airfares through Qantas I'll get a substantial discount for points-plus-pay (or if I'm very lucky between now and then, they'll be free).

But like yours, it's difficult to actually get a seat and one has to book nearly a year ahead.

I work with people who get hay fever in the autumn as well as in the spring so there has to be something happening.

Your travel plans sound excellent and just call them tears of joy and stop worrying about it. :D

Oh they will be tears of joy for sure. Which is silly, because he's lived with her for four years and his life isn't going to magically change just because they're married. But I guess it's natural to see these things as milestones in your children's lives, and to want to see them achieve these things.
