I actually wonder if anyone has ever done a study on how much of the average work day we all lose to those "drop in for a chat" "just a quick question" things. I don't want to think about it too closely but it has to add up to a significant portion of the working week for most of us.
Well at least your evening sounds like it was fun and kudos to your colleague for driving your home.
So much time lost like that! I ended up shutting my door and letting the phone go through to messagebank today, just so I could get 45 minutes' uninterrupted work done.
It was lovely of D to offer to drive me home; he certainly earned a couple of free coffees.
Oh, that was so interesting - a little glimpse into what happens in - well, I presume a bank :) - behind the doors I never get beyond.
Only - how familiar some of it sounds already!
The business about mobile phone calls: the number of people who think this is okay baffles me. Texting is bad enough, but extended conversations while I stand there do make me cross.
Yes, it's a bank, but offices I think share certain features regardless of industry.
It's just so rude to take a call when you're trying to do business with someone. I've been in shops which have signs saying that they will not serve you if you're talking on your phone, and I endorse that wholeheartedly.
Giant tshirt sounds good, it's the way to go I think.

You leave your home at 7am, and have lunch only past 2pm?
I'd faint from the hunger :-(
Good end to the day though!
