I gave falcadore a giggle with this factoid some time back... in the early 2000s, one of the many politicians I pestered repeatedly as a reporter was then-Missouri Governor Bob Holden.
...Somehow I don't think that's the same guy as #35 there...
Well what DO racing car drivers become when they hang up the helmet? Not much difference between politics and sport, or so the competitors will tell you.... (and did falcadore enlighten you to the fact that Bob Holden was most famous for driving a Ford? *g*)
I read the pre-top ten version of the article yesterday. Totally amateur. Riddled with errors and typos. Much less interested in the final version today because of that.
Was it really? Must confess I only skimmed it, waiting for the final results to be announced. And won myself a little bet on the top placing, even though it was a dead cert who would be in the #1 possie.
Mate a tent peg's better-looking than Dickie! He's always looked like a bloodhound. Europe and UK for six weeks would have been fun! I know what it's like trying to catch up though. I had five weeks in the UK earlier this year; didn't look at my flist in all that time and didn't even try to catch up once I got back.

Happy birthday by the way, I'm just trying to catch up after my overseas visit.

Brockie was my hero for years and years; I still hold a minutes' silence on 8 September every year in his memory.
