Heh heh, but you won't be seeing Veggies in Veg-suits at Comic-Con. XD

I think Scott Shaw's making a joke about the Furries.

Actually "Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew was an old Funny Animal comic from the late 80's and earl;y 90's. Scott Shaw was the original artist, as such this isn't as much a comment on furry as being a progenitor of furry , at least in the U.S. Tons of In jokes, Scott Shaw! worked for Hanna Barbera too so there are HB as well as DC Jokes. There are a lot of Con in jokes, and I think more than a few furry caricatures of friends there.

What year was this made?

October 2007, I think.

It's a 3-issue comic series that ended in a cliffhanger, and only concluded in the mainstream DC comics storyline, "Final Crisis".

Yanno, I think you posted it earlier as one page, and now it's two. Now I see a few more things that give me a better timeframe :-)

I hate cliffhangers though x.x

The first page failed to load, so I combined the two pages together.

Yeah, that's pretty much what Comic-Con looks like-- only much, much more crowded. Went there last in 2005 when there were only 100,000 people there... and we parked 8 miles away and took the train in. A dad was taking his son to Comic-Con on the same train, and he couldn't find any parking closer than 8 miles away either.

Would be fun to fursuit at Comic-Con again, but man, it's hard--- done it twice, you really have to have a hotel room nearby and they're uber-expensive and impossible to get.

Naw, it's not impossible. Assuming you like sitting in front of the computer, endlessly hitting refresh the MINUTE reservations open in February XD

I've always gotten one of the frightfully expensive hotels, so that's the only way I've had parking.

clarification -- "damn near" impossible and highly unworkable. super_jayhawk July 30 2009, 20:41:06 UTC
I tried that back in February, for the last two years... the "Travel Planners" reservation system ends up crashing from the overwhelming demand and gives a bunch of ODBC errors (great, an IIS backend) and by the time it comes back up, all the hotel rooms anywhere nearby were taken.

The only one I was able to get in 2008 was about 5-6 miles away, for nearly $300/night-- and we all said screw it, that's too far to take a fursuit anyway, needs to be in walking distance to be worth that kind of money.

Ah well, maybe someday. Going to Comic-Con is hectic, crowded, and damn expensive... like $1000/person and up when it's all said and done.

Interestingly I haven't been to Comiccon in two years (maybe three, I forget), so huh...apparently it's gotten worse. Maybe it IS impossible then ^ ^;;;

Yeah, the last time I made it we were about ten blocks away. The year before that I piggybacked on some friends in the Gaslamp District, and that was the closest I've ever been...

I know all of the San Diego jokes like the battle ship and "Petco Park"

I've also noticed a really smelly superman cosplayer.

LOL! Yeah, I've seen pics of that sweaty Superman cosplayer guy. XD

I'm very amused by the fact that Fursuiters are represented by Veggie-suiters too.

Oh look, Captain Jack SPARROW!
