I take it there's some kind of live-action version of DBZ in the works?
I'll be over here, shuddering.
I didn't encounter DBZ until I was... 20?... so I have NEVER liked it. Repetitive, stupid, and populated by unlovable characters pretty much summed it up for me, and all it took was one episode. :)
The only thing I can't figure out is how they're going to make human beings look like Dragonball characters, because I'm pretty sure it's illegal in any country on earth to force-feed your actors steroids.
There was another live-action DBZ attempt made a few years back. I think it was a Chinese version. I saw a couple images from that one, and it was seriously... "cutre" is how you'd say it in Spanish. Absolutely cringe-worthy.
I suppose the only reason I keep liking DBZ is because it meant so much to me when I was a teenager. It was my first experience with anime and manga, my first time as an otaku, and every little new thing I found out about the series was an incredible revelation. After living a couple of years with the characters, you get fond of them. (Maybe this is how I'll feel about Harry Potter in a few years' time.)
And hey! You could say that I'm studying Japanese and East Asia thanks to DBZ!
