From "dapperly curious" to "I'll be asking him up-front. Someone who's been around that long must get bored with mind-games and duplicity." -- !

Just waaaaaahhh! It's so totally Xanatos, man.

Guh, do you have ANY idea how much I want to see the followup with Yuber now? I'll pay somebody to req it.

Seishirou meets Griffith.

[It is an exceptionally awkward moment, in as composed a way as possible; from opposite ends of the hall come a paragon of masculinity in a black trenchcoat and sunglasses, and a trounced-up long-haired nobleman in pale purple with bows and cravats and turned up shoes. They regard each other cordially, Seishirou with a smile, Griffith a mask-faced nod.]

[Neither of them makes a move to open the door for the other one.]

Griffith: You received the same invitation as I, did you not?

Seishirou: Yes, I've been to one of these things before. [eyes ahem what Griffith is wearing under the bows and ruffles, discreetly behind the sunglasses] I'm sure you'll have a time of it. [steps back, nods] Sakurazuka Seishirou. Hajimemashite.Griffith: [doesn't bow either] Duke Griffith of Midland, commander of the Band of the Hawk. [also doesn't open the door] Are we the first to arrive ( ... )

Mortal!Griffith having a shoujo-anime moment is the best ever.

Seishirou's first response is just golden.

Delita and Vayne. Ivalice then, Ivalice now.

Delita: Forgive me, I did not expect tea with history.

Vayne: There is nothing to forgive. [slides the tray of pastries over] So tell me, this Ivalice of yours--what is mine to it?

Delita: A world and more away. Archadia fell not a century after you. The people to whom your reins of history were given could not control the steed.

The pastry tray: [slides to a halt]

Vayne: Of the empire itself, I have little concern. But of the sentient races, from this did they learn?

Delita: Humanity recovered in time. But no, they are not enlightened; still they place undue trust in gods and symbols, and so little in themselves. They wish to be shepherded, for that is a care off their backs, a crate off their carts. I am working to allay this, but it will take time long after me.

Vayne: [knows failure, quietly and imperceptibly] But that was the choice of the people, and who am I to fault them?

Delita: [knows humility, only slightly more evidently]

Thanks!

Vayne: And he is the third brother of four?

Delita: The last is a sister, but yes.

Vayne: Such patterns history has. There was a House Beoulve in Archadia. It gladdens me that some lines have survived.

Delita: More than perhaps you'd think, if you allow impurities.

Vayne: Did my brother have heirs, then?

Delita: Five children, three of them sons, if I recall aright. The Emperor Larsa passed the throne to his second son, and the second to his first. But of the Emperor Larsa's others, in male line--one a monk, and the other street-corner legend.

Vayne: A pirate or a thief, I do not doubt. Already my brother consorts with these.

Delita: My father would sing songs of that hero. Heiral the Black.

Vayne: I pray that this is so; I could not ask for better for my line, than to have the twin dragons spout the Hydra's third.

If I had actually played Tactics (something I need to DO, damnit), I would probably get this more.

But even in my basic understanding, YES. LOVE. THANKS.

Xanatos: [is on the room's balcony overlooking the city and the bustling airships] Fascinating.

Seishirou: [emerges from the room proper, stands or looms next to him, and takes out a cigarette].

Xanatos: [whips out the most high-tech lighter ever and lights it for him]

Seishirou: [smirks approvingly]

Y Halo Thar Sei-chan.

Of course Xanatos would *just happen* to have a neat, high-tech lighter on him. XD So very wonderfully both of them, this was.

I do plan on continuing this one, actually. ::smiles:: It's actually plausible for them to meet in canon.
