For some reason, every part of my body, except my throat, is so sore that I'm making the walking equivalent of typoes. So I am going to sit down until the aches subside.
Also, my nightshirt plastered to my arm because the spirit gum remover didn't quite work. Ick.
Best reason ever, though. I mean, I kicked ass last night if the response is any

Hm. When Drace was small, she was very small. I seem to recall her taking advantage of this when she desired to uncover the truth about her aunt (the Judge's wife) and this particular ardent that Drace rather liked. She snuck about and followed them and, well, uncovered that truth. Her aunt warned Drace not to tell anyone about what she and the ardent were doing--but this is Archades, people found out anyway.
Her uncle, the Judge and the head of the family, divorced his wife and had her exiled, and at one point publicly said that it would have been better for them all if she had told him rather than keep it a secret. Drace was present to hear this.

Before Odessa was born, Mathiu was the light of his father's life. They would often go fishing together. On one such occasion, Mathiu saw net-fishermen for the first time. When Mathiu raised to his father that you could catch more fish that way, his father replied that yes, those men use nets because fishing is their work; but we use rods, because for us it's not about catching fish, it's about spending time together. But Mathiu didn't understand--if it was just about spending time together, why are we fishing at all?

According to the canon, Balthier had older siblings--or half-siblings, mind you--and I would say that they are significantly older, at least twelve years. None of these was around when Balthier was born, out of wedlock, to Cid and his girlfriend.
The first time Balthier met any of them was in his Akademy days, when one was the instructor's assistant. Balthier promptly found himself beaten up in the courtyard for daring to use the Bunansa name.

Viktor was the terror of Northwindow before there was a real terror of Northwindow. Anything you dared him to do, he'd do just to prove he wasn't chicken. So he was about eight the first time he spent the night in a graveyard. After the fifth time, someone else finally went with him. Pretty soon, there was a group of ten boys who would sleep on gravesites once a fortnight. They were fearless, and Viktor was their leader. Until one of the boys slipped and hit his head on a tombstone and didn't wake up for a few days.
After that, Viktor had troub;e finding company.
