I have money. It is in a bank account with Barclays, one of the UK's largest banks, and tied to a Visa debit card, an international standard. I've paid a number of US companies for various services; my statement here includes 'This transaction was for USD 23.44'; I can pay in US dollars ( Read more... )

I don't know why that happens. Try looking for hidden check boxes that will let you specify which country you're paying in. I had the same problem trying to pay for a newsreader service in Germany recently and spent about 20 minutes wrestling with the website before I figured out how to tell it I was in the US and trying to buy something in Germany.
