Scans: Final Crisis

May 16, 2010 18:45

I finished reading the TPB of Final Crisis recently in preparation for Return of Bruce Wayne.  It's got its pros and its cons.  The cons are simple:  the plot is so sprawling, disjointed, and complex that it sometimes loses all coherence and you have to just sort of surf along going "Oooh, a cosmic vampire!" or "Huh, that appears to be two Flashes ( Read more... )

I don´t know how important those tie-ins really were, I started reading Legions of III Worlds and Revelations and didn´t find them very revealing at all. The only book that I think is a really necessary addition is Superman Beyond, which is an enjoyable read as well ( ... )

And here people are wondering why new readers shy away from these big navel-gazing events in comics. It just looks like too much work catching up on the back stories of some obscure characters, doesn´t it?I understand that it's traditional that the Big Crossovers are dense and continuity-heavy, but they need to stop coming so fast, IMHO. In fact, I could really use a break from crossovers--I'm dizzy from trying to follow War of the Supermen, and I'm not even bothering with Brightest Day and it still makes me tired! I'd love to see more titles that are free of being dragged into wider events for a while ( ... )

OMG, the first picture - the Batman’s body!

I just love Superman's expression there. "You--You had Batman right here? And you took Dan Turpin's body? No way!"
Oh yes, it was amazing! He really didn’t want to believe it. But Darkseid’s explanation makes sense,IMO.

just don't expect it to make a lot of sense.
:lol I confess, I would be probably totally lost.

President Obama revealing Superman’s \S/ - that was a surprise. But that was nice. :)
Superman in a world where Nazi won the second world war?! O-ow, that sounds weird to me. Does it mean, he still acts like Superman, only speaks German?

Thanks for the scans. :)

If I remember right, he's still a hero (he seems a very good man), and suffers terrible guilt for growing up in such a world (although I think he arrived after WWII and he didn't help the Nazis).

Muahaha, I just finished a story where Darkseid decided to take the extra time and had one of Bruce's clones waiting in storage... (poor Clark, he is very upset!)

I know, I knooowwww. It shouldn't work at all, lol. But Morrison's Superman is just that kind of character (oddly, it helps dispell the corniness for me that he basically rips out his vocal cords in doing it from the power of that one note. But still...)

Superman saves the world by singing! Reason enough to like Final Crisis.
