Wow, Mithen! This was superb!

Your sensory description was outstanding! You should be very proud of this story. :)

I love Bruce's voice keeping Clark with us, because he could have very easily slipped away into the Universe as pure energy. He sounds very Vulcan here. ;)

Coming from someone known for the awesome amount of sensory details in her fic, your compliment means a lot! Thanks! :D

This was marvelous!

I actually tasted onion rings (and now I want them, curse you!) while reading the description.

*grin* Thanks! I don't know why onion rings--I don't even usually like them much myself! But that was what Clark wanted described, apparently... :)

This was so BEAUTIFUL. Line after line of description could have been dull, but it wasn't at all. It flowed, carrying me with it, pure poetry! I felt Bruce's desperation and Clark's fading away. The last line was perfection itself. I can't possibly pick a few lines I liked from this story; it's a gestalt.

Thank you SO much.

It was really interesting to try and keep the description passages flowing well and staying involving! Because you're right, they can be really static, so breaking it up with commentary on Bruce's thoughts here and there was an interesting challenge...glad you liked the results!

Please write a sequel where Clark takes him up on the offer. Thank you for this story. Poor Bruce.

Livewire cackled with laughter, hovering in the air. "Oh, I see you're literally Big Blue now,"
WOW, Livewire. :) It’s great - she’s one of villains I’ve learned more about lately (from Smallville and Superman TAS). And she sounded so Livewire like, IMO. :)

Superman's suit was fluttering from the Metropolis sky, an empty blue rag.
Oh NO!

Carefully, as if he was handling something very precious, Batman teleported Superman's electrical form into the Watchtower computer.
Oh yes, precious! That was said so well.

"Are you...all right?" It seemed a foolish question.
Well, I know it could see foolish. But I’m sure I would say exactly the same.

"Luthor is working on your suit. I pointed out the P.R. advantages of being your savior and they seemed to outweigh the pleasures of revenge for now."
Seeing Luthor interacting and sort of cooperating with Batman, making the new suit for Superman - WOW, that was an interesting idea! But I have to say, I was glad for it and I liked it. :)

Hi Lis! *waves* I am indeed in the US right now, about to head off on the cruise tomorrow, but am doing just a bit more catching up tonight! If I don't get to your email, thanks so much for the holiday wishes and I hope yours is wonderful too! *hugs*

*grin* Technically Livewire wasn't in the comics during the time Clark was in this costume, but I couldn't resist her--she would have found him so sexy. :)

I was surprised when I scanned the comics of the time--Luthor did make him the original suit when he became energy and saved his life! I didn't get exactly why, but he was in a time of being less of a villain in the 90s...

Well, it could look weird - Batman describing onion rings (I would like to know why just onion rings, BTW. :)) to a computer. I'm not sure why onion rings! :) I had eaten some good ones recently, but usually I don't ( ... )

I can guess why. ;)

Onion rings are an excellent choice! You have the fried smell, the crispiness/crunchiness of the batter, the sweet yet tangy flavor of the onions, silky as they slide over your tongue, free of the batter... :)

YAY, I'm glad you got the holiday wishes Jen. :) I'm looking forward to your email. (And it's totally okay if you get to it after you return back. :)) I wish you have a great time and a very nice Holidays. :) *Hugs*

I'm not sure why onion rings! :) I had eaten some good ones recently, but usually I don't like them much., so it was kind of an odd choice...
I have to say, I don't like onion rings much as well. But reading BradyGirl's description of them... Awwww onion rings really sound like an excellent choice. :)

I worried it was a little too abrupt but ending with Clark hearing his name again seemed just about right. :)
Absolutely! :)
