--Got any premises on the back burner that you'd care to share?I'm alive! And writing! I went to my beta in despair about my love story ending and he helped me restructure it so it felt more authentic and less wooden, and I ended up happy with it, so that's good! I hope you're all finding some authenticity and joy in your writing this week ( Read more... )

Working on my Yuletide fic now. It's coming together. I wasn't sure what it was going to be about since my recipient didn't have a "Dear Yuletide Writer..." letter. All I have is a fandom and two characters. But, I reread the book, found something that sort of seemed like it could work, and 1300 words in, it's happening ( ... )

I'd be so fretty without a Yuletide letter, but I'm sure it can be freeing as well! Glad to hear it's going well...

I usually find that I write most fixit fics when a plotline (in comics or on TV) hasn't been wrapped up yet. Sort of, "If I were suddenly tapped to write the next issue/episode, where would I take this?" The problem is, if canon gets there first, for good or ill, I don't usually have the same drive to put my spin on it

Yeah, I can see this! When things get closed off they become kind of "set" and that's that for me. The joy of working in a fandom with lots of very slow-unfolding stories and loose ends aplenty!

*sigh* I am so far behind on everything now that I think I'm just going to leave it here, actually. Ah well. :D

I'm really glad you still have some prompts in your forlder. And happy to see you have plans for new stories. *dances happily*
Can't wait to read them! :)

More prompts is always good, isn't it? I picked up a sad one and looked at it and put it away again--sad is not something I can handle right now...

Oh please, no a sad story. You know me, I don't like to read sad stories. And we really need something happy now. xx

I finally wrote something! It's a ridiculously cracky DC/Marvel crossover based off another person's fic (with their permission) and I'm waiting to get it betaed. Short version- Lex, Bruce and Tony Stark are all longtime buddies who save each other from bad romances (Lex) and bad investments (Bruce) and Team Idiot (Tony, and do NOT get me started on Civil War because I want to punch Cap forever.)

I have only heard vague murmurings about the latest Civil War stuff (the comics version, not the movie version) but it sounds like a lot of people need punches in the mouth and fixit fic, to be honest, so I'm glad you're stepping up to the plate of the Billionaire Friends Club! :)

Thanksgiving can be so inspiring! It's always good to take a moment and remember what we're thankful for, absolutely...
