I was alarmed to discover this story never actually...got to the smut, lol. But with these two, I'm not sure it's actually necessary. I'm thrilled you enjoyed! And yes, darn it, those two backstories are going on my list of things to write now... *rolls eyes at self*

Ah, thank you! I know John is a such a stroppy guy, so I just...really love giving him a chance to just relax and really enjoy Sherlock's presence. :)

Oh my, I love the set-up at the beginning, Sherlock just behind him, teasing, nothing but voice and authority, guh.

Loved all the little moments of humor in this one, but this was my favorite:

"Oh, let's leave my penis out of it this time," Sherlock sniffed, which made John start to giggle again.

Hehe, in which Sherlock Holmes is the opposite of most men. :P

Hehe, the beginning really fell together nicely when Sherlock decided to step out of John's field of vision so John didn't get distracted by all the oddly pretty and could focus on his voice. :)

And yes, oh, the idea of Sherlock being all "Eh, penis-stuff, that's nice but not right now" just makes me absurdly happy.

There was a knock on the door.
Sherlock's hands left his shoulders. "Yes?"
"It's me," came Lestrade's voice. "We've got a lead on that murder case."
"Oh," Sherlock breathed, delighted. "Come in, of course!"
Oh my! Poor John. :)

There was a smudge of white powder on his index finger; Sherlock touched it thoughtfully to his tongue and closed his eyes, and John's knees went rather wobbly. "Oh damn," he muttered under his breath.
I don’t blame him. :D

Anyway," Sherlock continued after a moment, "I don't think Lestrade noticed anything too out of the ordinary."
John frowned at his reassuring tone. "Well, he should have," he snapped.
True. :)

"--of course you do," John said, and Sherlock's face went still, looking down at him. "Don't you want everyone to know how I feel about you?" The thought seemed tragic, somehow. "Don't you want everyone to know the truth?"
AWWW! John! :D

"Anyway, he made me promise to call ahead instead of just barging in on you, so I'm less likely to show up and find you seriously under the influence in the ( ... )

I know, poor boy! Having Sherlock as a lover just means sometimes you're going to be left high and dry, I'm afraid...

YAY, Sherlock is a sweetie. :D

But yes, also he will try, usually very quietly, to make things better. And that's part of why he's so fascinating!
