Bilbo wagged a finger at him as if scolding a child, and Thorin felt all his resolute kingliness leak from him. "You promised you wouldn't do that again," he chided. "You're not getting rid of me now."

Thorin felt he should argue more, but his relief was so great that he couldn't manage it.

I just love those little moments.

Bilbo looking into the Mirrormere with Thorin! What a great idea.

I couldn't resist getting Mirrormere in there! Thorin's reaction is so different to it than Gimli's--so much more ambition, bith for good and for bad...

Bilbo has a definite skill for undermining resolute majesty, doesn't he? :)

Hahaha, I discovered I couldn't get through some of the rough spots without some fluff here and there--in this chapter, literal fluff! :)

LITTLE BEBBEH BEAH CUB OH MY GOD *falls over in a pile of squee*

Surely you knew that including that ran the risk of me missing the rest of the chapter in a fit of OMGBEAH XD

Thorin's return to darkness was expected but still oh-so-sad to watch :( Though I love that a mental Bilbo keeps ruining his power fantasies, even when the real Bilbo is struggling to reach him.

*nods solemnly* I decided it was worth the risk for the image! :) It helped me get through Thorin's relapse a bit! And Bilbo as his own little internalized conscience makes me oddly happy to consider... :)

Bilbo trailed after him, fearing terribly that Thorin spoke more truly than he knew.

Aww, poor Bilbo... *sigh* I hope everything turns out well for them soon.

It's interesting to see how the ring influences Thorin, now that he is the one who carries it.

I felt so awfully for Bilbo at that line! Definitely something's got to give soon... and Thorin with the Ring is...kind of fun to write, actually, but not so good for Thorin or anyone around him...

"My path does not lie with yours for now, Mr. Baggins," said Gandalf. "But I trust you to show this hard-headed dwarf the right way."

Oh, I'm going to miss Gandalf...

"Le fael," Bilbo blurted out from beside him; Arwen smiled like the sunrise and Thorin wondered with annoyance when exactly the hobbit had learned to say "Thank you" in Sindarin.

Awww, Bilbo! *pets him*

Thorin stopped and raised an eyebrow at the sight of Kíli with a lop-eared gray rabbit in his arms, its pink nose twitching as it stared at the newcomers.

OMG, Kili with a bunny rabbit! :D :D :D

a very round bear cub tumbled into the glade, looking around with some bewilderment before running over to Fíli and trying to steal his honey cake. "Hey!" said Fíli, "Back off, bear." He swatted its nose lightly and it sat back hard on its haunches, giving him a reproachful look. "This little guy won't stop annoying me," he said, then sheepishly broke off a piece of cake and gave it to the cub, who snorted happily and ran off again.asdjfjsk!!! Fili with a bear cub! Fili ( ... )

Oh, I'm going to miss Gandalf...

I think the whole party will!

OMG, Kili with a bunny rabbit! :D :D :D

AHHH isn't that a great image? I couldn't resist it (and the bear cub) once I thought of it...

Oh, I hope Thorin is right and there aren't too many orcs around...

*whistles innocently*

Oh, oh! *gently pets Thorin*

I love the idea of imaginary!Bilbo trying to talk some reason into Thorin in his subconscious. :)

The balrog hasn't been awakened yet, I promise! *sets the balrog aside for the next arc* I really loved the Moria chapters, so I'm hoping to find a way to post them a little more quickly than I might otherwise (it helps that nothing else is ready to post, lol!)
