*sporfles at Steve wondering if Clark really was from Kansas* You have NO idea. ;)

I love that Steve calls her Angel without thinking and that they have that immediate rapport. Sometimes it does happen. Having him ask about what she does to work out was really awesome and sets him apart from the others.

Crisp white dress and ponytail and glasses! EEEE!

Clark spends so much time not believing Bruce when he tells the truth, I figured turnabout was fair play! :)

My first Diana, oddly enough, was the de-powered one who wore cool white clothes and did karate, lol! So I always like harking back to her a bit...

I found a book that talked about the different origin stories for various DCU heroes and of course Wonder Woman was one of them, so I pictured the Diana from the first version of the origin story. I don't have the book anymore. I think it got donated to a library or thrown out. :-(

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. You squeezed the Tribute to the Troops show into this verse, we got some Gotham City Siren teamwork in Diana's elimination, AND my OTP for Diana with their dynamic perfectly intact! I LOVE IT.

Ugh, I'm dying to get Harley into this world, but I can't until Napier becomes the Joker! But Selina and Pam working together was a nice start. :)

I love the idea of Steve being mystified by Diana's "alien world," even if it's a different kind of world than usual! He'll have to go back to her little Greek island some day, I suspect...

*squees delightedly*

What a great first meeting between the two of them, Mithen! I love Steve warning Diana and calling her 'Angel' and his earlier scoffing of machismo. ;) And it was great of him to start asking about her weight training instead of the usual fluff. :)

Clark was a delight, too. He is corn-bred and Kansan all the way through! ;)

I like Diana taking charge and finding Steve later and initiating their kiss. That's just like her! :)

Thanks so much for this lovely gift! I've had a GREAT day and this is just icing on the cake! ;)

Yay, I'm so glad you liked this! I've been thinking about their relationship and I knew that Clark wouldn't be able to see it start--and since the series is limited to Clark's POV that made me sad! So I thought I'd take advantage of your birthday to write it! Diana's a joy to write anywhere, but she's the sanest person in this AU and I love her for it. :)

I like the New England background you gave Steve. I use that for him, too. DC never gave us any background on the guy: whether his parents were still alive, or whether he had brothers or sisters or where he grew up, so he's a tabula rasa for any author! :)

Glad my birthday gave you the opportunity to get a first meeting between Diana and Steve. I love first meetings between these two! ;)

Sanest is right! ;)

Ahhh, it was so lovely to get a chance to see Diana and Steve in this world!

I want to hug Steve a lot in this one, and I'm so glad he and Diana found each other! That he won her over talking about exercise regimes instead of... anything else, lol, is perfect!

And oh, those last lines! *squees* I hope we'll get to see more of Diana - and Steve - in the main story! :)

It made me so happy to realize he'd start asking how she works out! :) Of course, in the DCU that's a silly question, but here it worked...

I'm hoping Steve shows up in the main story again! He's probably going to have to, a little bit, considering the angle that's going to happen... *whistles innocently*

An elbow dug into his ribs. "Lighten up a little, Trevor," yelled Johnny Cloud. "This is supposed to be fun, you know! And the best is yet to come…"
:)

Steve found himself on his feet yelling: "Look out, Angel!"
AWWWW!

"Thank you for your warning, soldier," she said. Her voice was like warm honey, with a hint of a European accent that he couldn't place.
I liked this. :)

Johnny was punching his shoulder. "Jesus, man, you shook her hand? You loser! You could have tried for at least a kiss!"
:lol

"It's too bad everyone else finds me so boring."
"Idiots," said Steve, and she threw back her head in a bubbling laugh, then leaned forward to take his arm.
Yeah!

"You've been an oasis in the desert for me," he said, breathing in the scent of her hair. "An island in a sea of sand. Thank you."
Beautifully said.

"I gave up waiting for you to come find me," said Diana Prince. "May I come in?"
And then she stepped forward and took him in her arms.
Such a lovely ending!

I enjoyed the story! Thank you so much for sharing it. :)

I like the idea of Diana having a Greek accent and really being from Greece! The DCU actually leads to some nice international wrestlers in some spots, I'll have to work on getting them involved...
