I have a definite soft spot for Lestrade/Molly as well, so I kind of wish I'd written a hint of that in there! I'll have to hope they slip into one of my other stories, because I just...I really want them both to be happy with a sweet kind person who appreciates them, and they would be so good at it... *sighs for them both*

And now I want to know that story! :D
his own story of how Sherlock had stolen evidence from a crime scene, which might not have been so bad except the evidence was a box of kittens. "Had to reassure some panicked children that their kitties weren't going to get dissected--try comforting a hysterical kid when you're half-wondering if he isn't vivisecting them as you speak!"
OMG, Sherlock with kittens! *falls over*
"And on John's birthday, too," said Mrs. Hudson. "We should be focusing on him instead of how dreadful Sherlock can be."
"Exactly," said Stamford.
An awkward silence fell.
"So, the election results in Kyrgyzstan were rather intriguing, don't you think?" Mycroft said.
*snorts*
"Anyone else a Downton Abbey fan?" ventured Molly.
Oh, Molly would so be a fan of Downton Abbey! *new headcanon*
Only John would know him well enough ( ... )

I don't even watch Downton Abbey, and now I want to in order to know what Molly likes about it, lol.
I love that Sherlock 'forgot' John's birthday, only not really. :)
I knew he would have forgotten it, but then I was really happy to find out he...hadn't forgotten it? Only with Sherlock can you get away with that, really...
Sherlock chirping! I can so see it!
Ahh, I loved that verb for his voice, for that kind of gaily cheerful thing he does sometimes...
Sherlock not knowing what to do with dirty dishes fills me with glee, eee! "I am attempting to be helpful as a sort of apology for outing us--not that I think I need to apologize--but I have never seen so many dirty dishes in this flat in my life and have no idea where to begin. Hm. *shuffle shuffle*" ( ... )

I loved every line! Things got awkward, indeed!
This is just fantastic :) Perfect voices, every one. And it's hard, in my opinion, to write a crowd(ish) thing, but you did it, and it worked beautifully :)
