Oh, how wonderful. I love the snarky banter between them, but also the fact that John isn't sure (and with some reason!) that Sherlock can actually do this. The sticky notes are delightful of course, but also make me think that it won't always go as relatively well as this first attempt did.

Looking forward to more!

Sherlock is an amazing person, but it would take some faith and hope to allow him to tie one up, I agree! But when he decides something is Very Important, he does try very hard to keep it in the forefront of his mind... so although things don't go perfectly they'll all work out okay, I think. *grin* Glad you're liking it so far!

I love the idea of this, the two of them gradually working toward a higher level of trust. Most of me thinks John's right to have his suspicions, and I admit that even though he didn't safeword-out of the situation when Sherlock left, it made me feel anxious reading it, that Sherlock would so quickly walk out at the distraction that is his mind a-whirl with solutions. But then with the notes -- I adore that you put those in this, how preemptively frustrated Sherlock is with himself, that he suspects himself of making the wrong choices spontaneously even though he's decided on the right choice/course he wants to follow. John putting the notes back and not mentioning it, waking in the light of day to find all evidence of those stern self-reminders gone, seemed to me very lovely -- the "gently" you use to describe him putting the notes back is perfect, the way he has a tender care for Sherlock even in the aftermath when he himself needs care and assurance. Very nice indeed!

Isn't it a lovely prompt? I owe the nice Nonny who left it some thanks. :) Because while I think we all probably agree Sherlock has the best of intentions when it comes to John, he is...well, not always focused, so it makes sense John would need some trust-building going in.

Good! I mean, not that I like making people feel anxious, but it really should be a sort of "Oh God no" moment for us and for John alike.

how preemptively frustrated Sherlock is with himself, that he suspects himself of making the wrong choices spontaneously even though he's decided on the right choice/course he wants to follow.I couldn't help but think that he would make contingency plans--he knows his own tendencies, and even if he usually wouldn't describe them as "weaknesses," he knows that in the context of a relationship with ( ... )

Aw! That was adorable and so very them! I like that they didn't just fall into the D/s relationship, that they negotiated and Sherlock has to SHOW John he can do it. It's cute that John thought the notes were for him, but then it turned out that they were for SHERLOCK, to make sure he didn't abandon John. That's so sweet in a very Sherlock way.

*grin* When I realized John would think that note was some kind of...weird attempt to keep domming him after the scene was over, it really made me smile. And yesss, that kind of Sherlock-sweet that's so intense it's kind of scary, but very devoted...it fills me with glee to write. I really enjoyed writing the slow build on this one, that anonymous prompter has made me a happy fanfic writer. *grin* Glad you're enjoying!

John would think that and then he realizes that's not it at all and it's just Sherlock.

Didn't mention this before, but their safeword made me laugh so hard. XD

The safeword! Oh my, it cracked me up, it seemed really the only option... :)

Aaaaaaaaawwww, Sherlock! ♥♥♥♥♥♥

You write him so well! This is perfect, the exactly right mix of exasperating and endearing, that feeling of, "I shouldn't find this cute or romantic, must be the Stockholm."

Also: Anderson, pffffffft!! XDDDD

Exasperdearing? Endeasperating? Whatever it is, Sherlock has it in scores, doesn't he?

Between that and Bruce's "love note in bruises" in the last chapter, I'm beginning to suspect I might have a thing for inappropriately-intense but so-romantic geniuses. Huh. ;)

In other Sherlock news, this happened on Tumblr. It's kind of terrible and incredibly hilarious and... well, Sherlock, thought you might get a kick out of it.

Oh my God, I don't even know what to make of that, but the building chorus of "Guys, that's Sherlock" is so absolutely LOLworthy...
