I'm telling you, the man is a human hedgehog! He's crazy with the spikes! :)
I'm trying to imagine Clark showing up in some crazy cosplay version of the super-spiky one and...the mind just boggles. I think Bruce would whisk him away in horror and spend the night chastising him severely.
Hmmm, you might be on to something with this sequel idea... :)
Eeee! This is so, so in character I can see it in my head as an issue of something. I loved Alfred's presence despite only having one line and Bruce pouncing and climbing on things like a ruffled kitt- ahem, bat. And the needling! These boys can't go ten minutes without finding something to pick at the other about, though it was too, too easy in this case. Ahaha, the rest of us are the ones who get spoiled around your birthday.
Bruce pouncing around the attic like a crazy ninja cat after Clark was such a fun mental image, I couldn't resist it! They were definitely in Snark Mode, which is always a joy to write. Clark might have gotten the upper hand this time, but Bruce will wreck his revenge somehow... :)
I can kind of see Clark showing up in the SPIKES ON SPIKES suit...just before a horrified Bruce whisks him away for stripping and scolding, lol.
I adore quiet little moments, especially when their backgrounds add an odd twist to it--we've all had loved ones stumble on our baby pictures or early doodles, just most of us weren't doodling out our plan to become the World's Greatest Detective and dress up like a bat to stalk the night... :)
Bruce is one of the smartest men in the world, he KNOWS Clark, so I have this scenario in my head where he anticipates it, and shows up to the same party in one of the more ridiculous variations on the Superman suit.
Excellent point! The Superman suit has fewer ridiculous variants, but surely the Electric Blue look would be enough to make Clark retreat in confusion... :)
I say if DC is going to actually hand us "notebooks" filled with Bruce's musings and drawings, they can't be surprised if we treat it as canon! :) Poor Bruce...surely Clark will make sure that no one but he sees his amazing Prototype Batman Cosplay... :)
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! I had a lovely day (and week!)
Bruce does come across as pretty young here, doesn't he? :) I assume it's moderately early on...on the other hand, I always see him as acting younger when interacting with Alfred in his civvies, somehow. In his costume it's different...
"Mr. Spikey McPokerson" made me really glad they went with a less... "fancy" costume.
Can you imagine the poor artist having to draw that week after week! I'm pretty sure they'd veto it pretty darn quick. :)

Also, those normal, domestic moments in their relationship? They're my favorite as well as Clark's. :-D

I love how Bruce sought help from Alfred. XD That whole paragraph made Bruce feel so young.

And now he knew exactly what his costume was going to be for this year's Wayne Charity Costume Ball.
Haha! You end your fics the best ways.
