EEE ever since you posted the scans for this one I'd been hoping you'd fic it! *happy dance*

I'm just as surprised as Clark that Bruce didn't recognize him. It's fascinating to watch them dance around each other.

"Oh dear," Alfred said again, casting his eyes up toward his own receding hairline. "Would I do, sir? It's safer." I know Alfred was kidding, but that line made me ache inside.

Oh, and LOL. I finally get the title. It's about the re-boot of Action Comics. So 're-action'. >.> Don't mind me.

It was so easy to get Bruce in there, I could not resist1 This was probably the issue that inspired this to become a series. :)

I'm just as surprised as Clark that Bruce didn't recognize him.

It's a really hard case! Canonically Bruce never seems to recognize Clark as Superman when they meet, so I usually run with it, even when it frankly strains credulity quite a bit. :P

I know Alfred was kidding, but that line made me ache inside.

I know...because there's a certain level at which you do feel that if it would keep Bruce safe, he'd totally prefer it. Poor Alfred...the early years when Bruce is so alone must have been absolutely the worst.

Oh, and LOL. I finally get the title. It's about the re-boot of Action Comics. So 're-action'. >.> Don't mind me.

*grin* And me re-doing it with Bruce as well! And there is some of the "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" which seems to fit Clark and Bruce here rather well... Okay, it might have been a little too punny of a title. *grin*

*squeals, does a happy dance around the kitchen*

"I just stood there while they were torturing him," Bruce said. He was pulling on his dark clothes, the heavy boots, the leather gloves. "And then that damned reporter today--he wanted all the juicy details, the sadistic bastard. I wanted to throw him across the room. But I smiled, and smiled, and smiled." He spat the words like they tasted foul. "And so," he said, looking at Alfred with shadowed eyes, "I am going out tonight. And I am finding someone who is hurting someone, and I am punching them. I am punching them very hard."

Aww, poor Bruce. Even if he does fail as World's Greatest Detective.

*continues happy dance, scares dust bunnies*

Poor Bruce, it's this one weird spot in canon that he consistently fails to detect. Though that may well explain why people don't often write him as meeting Clark before he knows his secret, just because it's so very implausible that he doesn't recognize him...

I've been trying to figure out how to throw them together again and then realized "Hey, it's not like Clark doesn't know where Wayne Manor is," lol. So the next chapter is rolling along pretty well now, although there's going to be an unavoidable pause while I wait for the next issue of Action to tell me what's happening next! :)

LOL, augh, I am as anticipatory as you are, just because Morrison has not seen fit to tell me yet how Clark gets the rocket, so I don't know yet how Bruce can help him! :) Glad you're enjoying, I'm hoping to have the next chapter up before I go globe-trotting again near the end of the month!

"No," Bruce said impatiently. "I mean, you think it's handsome? Really?"
and
"Have you considered...adding a cape to your costume? That Superman chap seems to pull it off well."

Loved it! Bruce's performance here was superb! great job!

Oh Bruce. Writing him seeming all impassive and flip is just the most Fun Thing Ever. Glad you enjoyed!

You wrote him perfectly - stoically standing by and watching Superman get tortured because it's the only way to free him, but being all torn up inside over it. Perfect.

Poor Clark/Bruce! Ugh, this was so hard to get through! The torture and the impotence. And ever since I read Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, I've enjoyed Luthor as a character, but DCnU Luthor is sooo bad! TT-TT Can't wait for the next chapter!

It was so hard to write! 0_0 Poor Clark, poor Bruce. It was such a relief to get him out of there, but Bruce is so angry at himself now...

DCnU Luthor is the slimiest! I kind of love him, lol.

I've started the next chapter and we'll see if it goes smoothly! *crosses fingers*
