Listy List

November is always the worst month of the year for me--so many meetings, so much work, and there's almost always some kind of crisis.  November apparently got started early this year, which means I'm awfully low on time to post or write (*sobs*).   So here is a quick list of a few things that are making me happy, just to remind myself that they're ( Read more... )

wfge11, yuletide, scans, awesome

I'm sorry november sucks for you! *hugs* Hopefully things won't be as bad as it progresses.

EEE Ace!

And inspiration is a precious thing; better to have it and be unable to use it all at once than not have it at all.

I have a superstitious dread of November for the last few years, actually. I need to have a great and awesome November to get over it! Maybe things will turn around and this will be it...

So true! I'm so glad for that, and I keep reminding myself of it whenever I feel out straight. I've got eight hours of student presentations tomorrow (things like a discussion of Chinese grammar...in Japanese) and I figure I can sketch out some chapters in longhand here and there... :)

I really like B&R 2 as well. Bruce was so...adorable. I like everything about him in this issue. And the last scene where he tried to get a pet dog in the house just to lighten Damian up definitely killed me. Million times. X) I hope Bruce will let Ace become his Bathound!

I kind of liked B&R 2 as well! I feel like Bruce is trying really hard, and I honestly don't think he's doing a bad job (heck, if Batman called me "commendable" my life would be complete), but Damian's obviously a kid with a lot of issues that are hard to address... I do have to say if Tomasi just brought in Ace to get hurt I will be very upset. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I feel with you. October/November are really busy for me every year, too and I already feel like I don't spend nearly enough time on lj. I hope you'll get through the busy times without major problems and your health intact.

Ah! Ace! I'm so glad he's a part of he new canon. :)

I'm so excited for yuletide! I can't believe it's nearly that time of year again... :)

I'm really lucky that my school has rigged the schedule this year so that there's a few classless days in a row next week. Not the whole week--God forbid!--but Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are mine to do as I like, which is nice, and gives me a chance to catch my breath before plunging into November.

I was so happy to see Ace! I really hope he sticks around.

Yuuuuuuuuletide! I had to listen to academic presentations in Japanese for eight hours yesterday, so I polished up my plans for which fandoms to nominate, which to volunteer for, and which prompts to ask for. Now to write my Dear Yuletide Writer letter and I'm set! *rubs hands together gleefully*

I have still four fandoms I'd like to nominate, but I know wich one I'll volunteer for and which fandoms I'd love to ask for. The prompts are always the easiest part for me.
Yuletide is just so much fun! I wish you luck and a lot of fun with your yuletide experince this year! :)

Ah, real life. October/November is about the time it pops up and reminds me it's here, too. Midterms, applying for jobs and grad schools... yuck. BUT WE CAN DO IT. *hugs*

ACE! ♥ I'm so glad Ace is back, even though Damian may have wanted a kitty instead. Poor kid can't catch a break. ;)

Ugh, I wish I had time to actually drive to my local comic store and pick up all of these comics I want to read... I'm already getting terribly behind. TT___TT

Oh my gosh, Yuletide and gift exchanges are already starting. DOES THAT MEAN CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE? :D

WE WILL SURVIVE THE FALL. One nice thing is that the weather here turns from tropical muggy to quite nice during the worst and most stressful times, so at least I often have clear, cool days and lots of sunlight to enjoy while I'm freaking out!

I'm soooooo happy to finally have my same-day digital comics! *HUGS THEM*

I wish things didn't all come at the same time, in some ways--can't we move Yuletide to, um, July?--but on the other hand that's just part of the thrill of it all! I'm dying for the Yuletide nominations to open up, and then prompts, and ooooo. *bounces*

OMG, ACE!!!! Ace is canon!!!!!!!! *dances* I can't wait to see of him - we ARE going to see more of him, aren't we, DC?

*hugs* I'm sorry November is going to be so busy for you, but I'm glad you're really inspired and writing, yay! :)

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to the WFGE! :D

Bruce getting Ace was a pretty major plot point in #2, so I think he'll stick around at least in this title--I think the dog is sort of a symbol of how his relationship with Damian is going. I've seen people worrying that maybe Damian will hurt the dog, and I have to admit if that happens I'll probably drop the title like a hot rock, I couldn't handle that.

I have SO MUCH I want to write, it's...kind of wonderful? And that's not even counting the WFGEs, which always give me a bunch of ideas that I end up running with. I finally finished up my three prompts yesterday and sent them in...I have this problem which is that when I come up with a good prompt I always end up wanting to write it myself, lol, so I keep adding to my own list and having nothing to send in. But I finally got three I felt like I couldn't write well but I really wanted to read, so that's good! :)
