I actually got inspired by this one from a little story in Batman: Black and White in which Alfred has a black cat called "Midnight." I was kind of wondering where he came from... :) And imagining a cat skidding around the Fortress made me giggle! Glad you liked it!

I know that story with Alfred and thought about it when the Bruce suggested Alfred might "need" him! Your Bruce is such a tsundere, I love it. (Just in case you think I'm making up words, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundere)

Yay, another person who knows the Batman Black and White story (which I love!)

Hee, the first time I heard the term tsundere I was like "Uh oh, Bruce is kind of a textbook case!" There's definitely a big appeal to the type, isn't there? He's sooooo much fun to write that way...

Cute!!! Bruce is also like a cat, independent and proud but soooo adorable :)

I imagine the little kitty like the one in my userpic, with night-blue eyes just like Bruce!

Oh, that cat has the most gorgeous eyes! And I always think Bruce likes dogs better than cats (Selina aside) but that he himself is a lot like a cat, even if he might not like to admit it. :)

I had a lot of fun with this one, I'm glad you liked it!

Yes, Bruce, because you adopting strays is soooooo implausible.

Bruce feeling for tiny-angry-kitten is adorable, and Clark has just won at life.

Bruce has no sympathy for people who adopt strays! :P Silly pushovers, he isn't like that at all... *grumble grumble* :)

Absolutely delightful! My cat loving soul is in heaven, and my dog loving soul loves the cameo by Krypto.

I liked that. :)

The Fortress always seemed especially empty without him, the vast open spaces somehow lonely.
Oh, it seems Bruce missed Clark. :)

"Clark," said Batman, "You didn't bring a kitten up to the Fortress."
A kitten? Great! :D

The kitten blinked at Clark lazily and made little paddling motions in the air, all its fierceness gone. You're not helping my case here, cat.
*grin*

Bruce liked it more immediately.
I new Bruce would be impressed. :)

"It's a fighter," Clark said approvingly as it gnawed furiously on Krypto's long-suffering ear.
It is! :D And Krypto was SO amazing in that scene.

"...I could probably take it off your hands," Bruce finished after a moment. Krypto gave him a sympathetic look: better you than me.
:D:D:D

Bruce thought briefly about fierce and independent things, prickly and lone, and how some people seemed able to get past their ( ... )

NONSENSE. Just...you know...the Fortress does. Yes.

AWWWWW Imagining the picture of smiling Clark with the kitten in his hands... *happy smile*

This story involved a lot of fun research of watching kitten videos on Youtube! ;) I kind of loved the idea of Krypto putting up with this angry little ball of fur. So writing this story made me really happy and relaxed! I'm glad you enjoyed it too!
