It is sad, I agree! Diana's run in Flashpoint hasn't been the most inspiring, but I do have some hope Steve will finally make his way back into canon...

Omigoddess! Beautifully-done, Mithen!

I like Diana questioning what she's supposed to feel, and Steve knowing that his world isn't quite right.

I have seen you in dreams, spangled with stars like the heavens, and your smile was both wise and merry. I know the perfume of your hair, and the taste of your body.

Beautiful. Our Diana is Joy and Happiness and does not believe in drowning in bitterness and anger.

Steve Trevor knows that he will follow her beyond death itself, because she is so much more.

Yes, he will, because Steve is bound with Diana. It's Fate, it's Destiny, despite what DC has said is canon for the past quarter-century.

I'm so glad you liked this, Brady! There's so much evocative in Flashpoint, even if none of it seems to have made it into the actual pages. :P And I'm such a sucker for people in AUs knowing that something is wrong--Steve seems like an excellent choice for that, as a man who's been in both worlds and yet doesn't seem firmly moored in the original... Let's hope that changes soon!

I hope so, too, but with the new creative team terming her book 'horror' now, I'm not so sure!

I'll see what's what before I pronounce that the new 'verse sucks. :) I do think it's a damned shame about the re-numbering. You're a company that can inch forward toward 1,000 as a number and you ditch that? *rolls eyes*

I've seen that about WW being a horror book! I'm both intrigued and not interested, lol. I've seen a few titles being referred to as "horror," and I'm kind of curious as to what exactly they mean by "horror." Do they just mean lots and lots of gore? Because that's not what horror is at all. Do they mean fighting supernatural monsters? Also not really horror, although I'm less annoyed by that. Diana doesn't really seem like a good fit for a legitimate horror genre to me, somehow...

I love these two, and it makes me sad that they just can't seem to connect! Though it does make for wonderfully bittersweet fic... :)

Oh my God, this is amazing. I love not-the-right-world plots where the heroes know something is inherently wrong, and your take on the Steve/Diana Flashpoint saga is so heartbreaking.

And that last line! OMG! *clutches heart* :D

Yessss, I love those "this world is wrong" moments as well, which might be why "Knight of Vengeance" worked so much better than most of the other minis for me. :) It does make for very bittersweet fic that's fun to write...
