Why I rarely post dreams to LJ

I had a very long and complicated dream last night, but all I remember is the very last part. It's a perfect example of why I just don't post dreams here too much ( Read more... )

Heh, that's a good observation. 'This is a test of your psychological threshhold for anxiety. This is only a test.'

I have to organize more stuff into that tag, there's so much crazy to be shared. I originally was going to do a pic of Paulie Walnuts from Sopranos saying 'My walnuts let me show you them' but I don't have a good program for making icons. The 'My Crazy' came out of that attempt.

I have those kinds of dreams, too. Only mine include, like, my brother coming back from the dead and wielding an axe.

Oh, yeah. My nightmares got it going ON.

Yeah, I mean when people post dreams I am totally guilty of skimming them sometimes, because most of the time it's something like 'I dreamed I was at work but it wasn't work and this guy was there but he wasn't anyone I know and we had lunch.'

Which I am not always in the mood to read, I must say. But if it's something a bit more cinematic and there's some Lynchian quality, I'm down. I just don't like revealing my own crazy too much to people. They don't all need to know about the dreams that make me wake up sweating or terrified of the dark, you know?

Oh, certainly. Which is why I rarely post about my dreams. I mean, I've posted a few here and there, but never the really awful dreams.

I haven't had one lately. Because I haven't really been sleeping, so when I do, I'm OUT.

But, yeah. Not everybody needs to know the deep-down-dark stuff.

Some I choose to remember, because there was seomthing about it that I liked or wanted to use in a story or something. I post it in my private journal because I like to keep some things to myself.

I know, the first thing after a particularly interesting dream that you want to do is tell someone. I think it's because you know you'll remember it better if you do that right away rather than 'save it for later.'

I may have a few different views. Perhaps it is my very vivid dream account and the fact that I've had precognative and prophetic dreams in my past ( ... )
