I'm not averse. (But I am finding it kind of interesting to both A) pay a reasonable price for music and B) know that the artist is getting a reasonable cut. And the shopping constraint of emusic's selection is finding me interesting things I mightn't have found otherwise.)

Well, it seems like emusic deals with labels, not directly with artists - but all the labels they deal with seem to be independent, and those have a much higher tendency to make more equitable deals. I am a bit sad that Sub Pop isn't there; lots of things I want lately seem to be theirs.
