Well, I just got myself a netbook. Which is awesome because sometimes I feel like the only person without one. Oh, I do have one - and considering it was free it was awesome. But it had to be plugged in at all times. The plug was loose and when it falls out it would turn off. From booting to surfing could take 20 minutes. Sooo… I felt it was time

I don't have any significant Ubuntu experience, but I've read a fair amount about it. If you're looking for the free-OS-for-non-hardcore-tech-nerds it's probably the way to go. I can't guarantee you won't have trouble with devices and installing whatever you want and such, though...it kinda comes with the territory.
