I always wondered what Cinco De Mayo was about. maybe it's cuz it's easier to remember than September 17.

sidenote: I didn't know Mexico's independence day was on Sep 17 till last year. I'm never knew much about my heritage ^^;;

Mexican Independence day is on September 16 (you were close)

I just thought on commenting on LJ's Writer's block question since i thought that the person that posted it should at least research a little bit about a foreign holiday, it was obvious that the person didn't know what that holiday is about and just assumed that Cinco de Mayo was Mexico's Independence day. Not only that , but that person should at least know how to spell Cinco >__< (he/she spelled as Cinqo >__<)

yeah, i think lots of people were complaining about it, so lj changed the subject to something completely different ( i think that was the first time i saw it happening, but lj really messed up in that one)
