~Junho’s POV~
‘Wooyoung-hyung didn’t sound any different,’ Junho thought to himself after hanging up the phone, ‘I hope that means Junsu-hyung and Khun-hyung didn’t mention anything to him yet.’ Everything was getting way out of hand, but even so he couldn’t bare to out his hyung just to save his own skin. Wooyoung trusted him, and he’d take the secret to his grave if he had to.
His morning schedule went along as usual: smile, pose, and repeat. It was what came next that worried him. He’d be with Junsu-hyung for the rest of the day. He fidgeted anxiously the entire car ride over to the next photo shoot eliciting some worried glances from Minjae-hyung, whose gaze he avoided all together.
Junho reluctantly slid out of the car to find Junsu waiting for him in front of the building. He seriously considered throwing up just then, but instead took those first steps towards his impending doom. Whatever was waiting for him at the end of this walkway needed to be handled ASAP for both his and Wooyoung’s sake.
“What’s up, Junsu-hyung?” he questioned cautiously as he reached the older man.
“Junho-yah~ I thought we could go get something to eat before this! I hear everyone’s running late,” Junsu asserted, before grabbing his arm and dragging him off to the nearby café.
“H-hyung! What’s going on?!” Junho manages to choke out as he’s practically thrown into a chair.
Junsu seats himself coolly in the seat across from him and smiles before saying, “Sorry I had to throw you under the bus like that, Junho, but I really didn’t know what else to do!”
“…Huh?” Junho replies, wide-eyed and confused.
“For telling Khun that you like Wooyoung! When I saw you two like that this morning, you gave me the perfect plan to light a fire under his ass,” Junsu chuckled proudly. “I should have come to tell you about it first though, shouldn’t I? I didn’t think you’d come eavesdropping on us, though,” he finished while ruffling Junho’s hair playfully.
“You knew I was outside the door?“ he inquired.
“Well I knew someone was, and judging by your reaction at breakfast, I had assumed it was you.” Junsu laughed, “So now that we’re on the same page, any questions before I move on?”
Junho couldn’t do much but stare in wonder at first. ‘So Junsu-hyung knew he wasn’t in love with Wooyoung, but told Khun he was anyway? Why would he do that when he obviously knows Wooyoung likes him! That makes no sense… Unless he was expecting Khun-hyung to get jeal-oh!’
“KHUN-HYUNG LIKES WOOYOUNG?!” he shouted excitedly before a hand reached out and swiftly covered his mouth.
“Would you keep it down? This isn’t a private place you know,” scolded the owner of said hand, “You didn’t know? I thought he was even more obvious than Wooyoung. You’re not very good at hiding things either, Junho. But I guess it was your loyalty that got Wooyoung to confess his secret to you.”
Junho shook his head fervorously and said, “So you told Khun-hyung… that I told Wooyoung I love him… to make him jealous?”
“Now you’re getting it! I needed to do something to get him moving. The both of them have been moping around all lovesick long enough,” Junsu stated factually.
“I’m with you, hyung!” Junho says as he reaches out a hand in comradery, “So what comes next?”
Junsu gladly grasps the hand offered to him and says, “I figure Khun’s not going to believe me entirely about what I told him this morning so what you’ve got to do is stick by Wooyoung as often as possible, especially when Khun’s around, to make it look real. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?”
Junho nods his head in agreement before adding, “But what if Khun-hyung decides not to make a move because he doesn’t want to cause trouble for Wooyoung? You know how protective he can be.”
“Hmm… That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought of that,” Junsu conceded. He sat and stared at the table for a while before suddenly pounding the table and startling the younger boy. Junsu smiled over at him saying, “I’ve got it! We’re going to use that protective-ness to our advantage. I’m sorry to say it Junho, but this means you’re going to have to go a little further than just becoming Wooyoung’s fake-lovesick shadow.”
“Further? What do you mean further?” He questions skeptically.
The Cheshire grin plastered on his hyung’s face grew a bit before he answered, “I’m going to need you to attack Wooyoung.”
“W-what?!” He sputtered anxiously, “Hyung there’s no way I could do that.”
“You have to Junho! Khun hears the frightened screams from Wooyoung and runs in to save the day. It’s a flawless plan… except you may get hit in the face,” Junsu concludes while reaching across the table to offer a consoling pat on the arm.
“Hyung, I really don’t know about this. Couldn’t I tell Wooyoung-hyung what I’m going to do first? At least then he won’t hate me,” he reasons quietly.
“No way! If Woo knows about it, his reaction won’t be nearly as genuine and pitiable,” Junsu justifies, “And there’s no way Woo could hate you, Junho. After they’ve confessed their love for each other I’ll make sure to get you off the hook, but for now just keep your mouth shut.”
Junho sighs and resigns to going along with the plan. If it’ll get those two together finally, he was willing to risk the wellbeing of his face. “Okay, hyung. I’m in,” he says firmly.
Junsu stands in excitement and walks around to Junho’s side of the table to ruffle his hair playfully and says, “That’s the spirit, Junho! For now just worry about sticking to Woo to build Khun’s jealousy, I’ll let you know when to put the second part into action.”
He stood along with Junsu and nodded his head in understanding. He was so anxious about the whole thing. He really didn’t know if he could keep it a secret from Wooyoung, or if he even had it in him to fake-attack his hyung, but he did know he at least needed to try if it meant there was a chance it would get those two together.
