I still can't decide which story to remix!

So I fall on the wisdom of my friends. There are two wonderful stories. They could go in two very differenct directions. So, a poll!

Feel free to elaborate in comments. I know enough about the victim subject from his/her work to know that they have written both and would hopefully forgive me both.

In all seriousness, that's just a personal preference, that I'd rather see a serious thoughtful take on something I've written.

Crack can be fun but sometimes humor is in the eye of the beholder and I'd be afraid (if it was me writing) that I'd end up offending the person I was remixing.

I can see how both would be entertaining, but I would personally rather see a thoughtful take on my story, because that would be ultimately more interesting [to me, I suppose, because crack can be a thoughtful take in and of itself sometimes].

I think it'd depend on the story a lot--I for one think utter crack which fits the story could be just as thoughtful as a serious take, and I just generally like being amused. But that's me.

Every time I think I've made a decision I have another idea. Which will result in a still longer fic.

A serious take only marginally beats out utter crack, and only because I've written more serious stories than cracked-out ones (well, I suppose that depends on who you ask and how they count my various crossovers and fusionfic). However, my real answer is: whichever option gets you, as the remixer, most excited. I'm in it for your strong response to my words, you know? Whatever form of fic it takes.

I am seriously considering starting them both and seeing which shakes out more interestingly.
