What a little sweetie! I think Mouse is a good name for him (and I love silly names like that. When we get a little, pot belly pig, we're going to call him dog)

After some intensive googling last night, I found a plethora of translations for "little mouse" - the Russian and Chinese both sound pleasing to the ear. Myshka or Laoshu. Which would be funny if he grows up to be enormous.

Totoro is another option.

Congrats, he's a cutie! For some reason, the name Baxter jumped out at me when I saw him.

Alas, the "friends' pets' names" statute of limitations bangs up into that one. I keep calling him "little mouse," and so far I like the Russian and Chinese translations: Myshka and Laoshu.

Or maybe Totoro, because he is grey, round, and cheerful.

I once had a cat named Pip. He had a different name at some point, but you know how cats name themselves - the cat just became Pip.

Quite unlike Jack, who'd turn his nubby tail and run when he caught sight of the camera.

I hope this guy isn't so camera-shy. I'd like to be able to photograph him.
