Yesterday a friendly and smiling and Hello Ma'am-ing cop showed up at my door to inform me that the house next door had been broken into. "They lost a coupla tvs," he told me. "Didja hear anything?"

Alas, I did not. No dillo pictures for me. It was a standard nine-banded armadillo though, they're not particularly rare.

I think I need to install an elaborate system of bells. Ring this one to go outside, ring this one if there's something you want to chase, ring this one if there's something dangerous.

And then remove all but the dangerous one, because they'd be CONSTANTLY GOING OFF ALL THE TIME otherwise.

By the time the police arrived the filter that runs between Mouth and Brain had started working again, so I did not give the "Good idea not touching it, they can carry leprosy" speech.

In retrospect I am not sure if this is good or bad.
