We're snowed in; I haven't had a caregiver in since Monday. And it looks like it may last through Christmas. Which means no Christmas presents, no groceries for Christmas dinner. Not that I'll need presents and festive groceries if nobody can get here. I'll have to ration the Diet Coke if I don't want to spend next week with a headache, though

If nobody comes, we'll have Christmas later, and it will be fine. What would really annoy me would be if the present deliveries didn't get through but the relatives were able to. I mean, I'd be glad they were here, but sad to have no presents for them.
And your package will probably be arriving between Epiphany and Valentine's, alas.

I confess that I can never get over the idea of Christmas in summer. I have a hard enough time imagining it in California. :D

It is bizarre, though, going by a general religious calendar meant for an entirely different hemisphere, where we celebrate renewal and rebirth when things are dying off for winter, let alone a winter festival when it's blazing hot.
