Ooh, look, it's a meme!

Yes, I know I shouldn't be doing this; I have far more important things to do--fic, betas, rants, answering comments, fixing up the computer... Let's just say that I'm trying to ease myself out of hermit-mode via memeing. Anyway, gacked from sallymn and astrogirl2:

In a very slight change-up from my normal answer to such memes in your LJ:

Megan Reeves

Okay, Megan it is:

a. My favourite thing about that character. As a character, I like that she's well-rounded and not a stereotype of any variety: she's a person, as opposed to 'the female character'. As a person, I like that she's not at all superficial or phony, and has the depth to appreciate Larry.

b. My least favourite thing about that character. That she's not in every episode? :) Honestly, I can't think of anything to dislike about her. I used to find her voice a little annoying, but I adjusted.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse. Larry, obviously. Although, if we exclude Larry as a possibility, I think Megan/Colby has potential for lots of fun. (I would never, ever ship her with Don, though, because I like their relationship exactly as it is.)

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. You know, she might be good with Giles, because she could handle the stress of his world. And I'd enjoy seeing her kill a vampire or two.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater. She ( ... )

Oh, yes, indeed. She's so real. I would love to have her as a friend; that sort of unpretentious, beautiful person.

One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. You know, she might be good with Giles, because she could handle the stress of his world. And I'd enjoy seeing her kill a vampire or two.

Dude. I might actually read that (although more for the vamp-killing than than the Megan/Giles, although yeah, I can sort of see the potential there).

Their ship from hell :) A horrible triangle, caught between House and Wilson.

LOL. And: geez, yeah, that'd be hell all right! Especially for Megan, who is really such a very grounded human being.

Oh, my, I really like that nightmare you listed for her. I can totally see it, and it's exactly the sort of thing she would fret over: failure, confusion, questioning her actions.

And I know nobody asked, but I couldn't help thinking that Larry's song is Lous ( ... )

Well, you have Labyrinth in your interests & I just rewatched it, so it's fresh in my mind.

Hoggle. He is now in a Scottsboro, Alabama. Unclaimed Baggage Museum.

Okay, I find that picture a little disturbing, LOL.

Hoggle:

a. My favourite thing about that character. His love of plastic. Also, his struggle between self-preservation and friendship.

b. My least favourite thing about that character. Well, his eyebrows are kind of scary. And he's a little rude to people when he first meets them, but I like to think he'll get over that, now that he has friends.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse. He meets a surprisingly nice fairy! Not a relationship without certain difficulties, but they make it work.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. Professor Sprout.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater. It would be amusing to see him in the Buffyverse, forced to fight vampires and suchlike with the Scoobies. :)

f. Their ship from hell :) Dayna Mellanby ::winces::

g. Their Song. The Ruby and the Pearl. A long time ago, he sang it to a girl; now, he sings it to his jewels.

h.The title of their biography or autobiography. - That's Hoggle ( ... )

*giggle* I can see Hoggle with a sprayer full of holy water, squirting vampires.

I already asked sallymn, but my life is too short of Jarriere at present...

Reply

mistraltoes January 21 2008, 09:32:44 UTC

Well, we certainly can't have a shortage of Jarriere, now can we?

a. My favourite thing about that character. He's a cherub. A deadly, infuriating cherub, but still...

b. My least favourite thing about that character. His taste in employers, perhaps?

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse. Dayna. They could leave a swath of mayhem across the galaxy, and he wouldn't even notice her gibes. Probably.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. Miss Marple. Just think of their discussions! :D

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater. Star Wars. He's a natural Jedi! Though I'm sure a little Jarriere would make any fandom better. How about Deadwood? Rome?

f. Their ship from hell :) Dolores Umbridge!!!

g. Their Song. Put on a Happy Face.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography. Stealth and Cunning for Fun and Profit.

i. The last bad dream they had. He heard a kitten crying in distress, but couldn't find it.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't ( ... )

Jarriere in Deadwood? I think I just went to heaven! Oh, I would so love to see/read that! And it's perfectly possible if he's an Immortal. I see a profound spiritual friendship developing with Richardson...

Funnily enough, my Jarriere's standard explanation of what he does with his spare money is "The Grego Jarriere Foundation for Orphaned Kittens".

Jarriere did pay a visit over the weekend, which was a relief. We played lots of Stones.

Vila:

a. My favourite thing about that character. His loyalty.

b. My least favourite thing about that character. His fashion sense. Honestly, sometimes his clothes hurt to look at.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse. Apart from Kerril? Vila/Soolin can be made to work in a PGP, I think.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. I haven't seen Farscape yet, but from what I've heard, Vila/Chiana has potential. ;-)

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater. Vila at Hogwarts! Or Blackadder.

f. Their ship from hell :) Servalan, without question. But he'd be afraid to break it off.

g. Their Song. With a Little Help from My Friends.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography. - Thief of Hearts (It's quite a creative tale.)

i. The last bad dream they had. Umm... he went to a gymnasium with Dayna and Soolin, only to discover that all the other men there were professional bodybuilders.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't ( ... )

LOL, poor Vila! He went happy.

Awww, with you on most of those, but usually his clothes are fine with notable and appalling exceptions. Who would he be in Blackadder - Baldrick's successful cousin? :-)

I'm tossing up between Jareth and Snape. Jareth.

Well, so was I, so I'll take Snape.

Yay, Snape!

a. My favourite thing about that character. So many things; but the one that springs to mind now is that he was steadfast, even when those on his own side were against him.

b. My least favourite thing about that character. That he let his feelings towards James affect his behaviour toward Harry to the extent that it endangered the fight against Voldemort.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse. Tonks. From the moment she was introduced, I thought that would be an interesting ship.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat. Willow, naturally. :)

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater. Stick him in Star Wars, let him hang out with Yoda. :)

f. Their ship from hell :) Harmony Kendall, from Buffy. She makes Neville look like a highly co-ordinated genius, and makes the Trio look like they mind their own business. Plus, vampire. Not the woman for Snape, no.

g. Their Song. Well, I think that barring the eye color, Behind Blue Eyes fits him even better than it does ( ... )

As with so many times I've done this meme, my a) and b) would be identical.

c) O_O wow, uhm... yeah, I just can't see that.

f) Oh god, yes, I remember Harmony VIVIDLY from Angel - and yes, that would Severus' date from HELL.

g) Oh, that's fantastic, perfect!! Sting works really well for Harry Potter - it occurs to me Wrapped Around Your Finger is very very very Voldemort.

h) Oh, yes. And Harry does the introduction, titled "The Bravest Man I've Known"

i) Wow. Yes, that's perfect.

j) Aww, that's terribly sweet.
