It's a fear of commitment. ;-) I'm just afraid something better will come along.
I've always admired the way you and astrogirl2 always seem to have the appropriate icon, but the effect seems partly due to the fact that you both stick to one or two subjects--you have Vila and cats, and she has Farscape and B7. Originally I was waiting to figure out a way to do something similar, but couldn't pick a theme because I'm so multifannish. So I just have ones I couldn't resist at the time.
I've been collecting ideas, though, and have several I like; now I just have to develop the skills to execute them. I should have some nifty icons by, oh... 2079?
I'm worried about getting to 100 (which quite a few people did surprisingly quickly) at which point I'll have to jettison some to add more. At the moment I just add one when I get an idea, like this one. I want a Vila doing a face-palm but I'll have to download snowgrouse's enormous screencap zip files and go through them to find one, which I do want to do as she has some good pics and I may get other ideas.
Well, I was starting from 50... it took a few weeks, as I recall, but now I have to delete one every time I have a new idea, so I try not to have ideas, even though a lot of mine deserve deletion.
Heh, I'm starting to worry about running out of icon space now that I've got 75/100. Thing is, I keep on adding ones that I've done for tardis_icons because I like them, not because they actually fulfill a useful purpose. Which is why my collection is currently lopsided in the direction of New Who. I have this list of icon ideas that I was going to be all orderly and fulfill until tardis_icons seduced me away. And now I think I've got more ideas than slots, oh dear. Y'know, things like having an "oops!" icon (I really have to do a better one for that) and a "Go you!" icon (I like Astro's one, see) and a "totally silly" icon, and a "serious rant" icon and so on.
