Um. Hi guys. Remember me? That chic who said she'd have another chapter of this story posted back in ... July of 2008?

*cough* I'm only twenty-six months a little late in posting this up. Right?

Honestly, I tried to continue the story. Really I did. But I got conflicting feedback-one call for a super-happy ending, one concern that I was going too ( Read more... )

Seeing this story updated again is all the more wonderful because of the complete surprise and lack of having expected it. (No offense. :X)

I was dissapointed to not see if completed before, but that's the way fics work some times, and I totally understand the "real life happens" thing. There are things I've been working on slowly for years, or hope I could go back and pick up again.

Great to have you back, and the new chapter was touching and so much happier than previous events, they're adorable. Thanks for updating!

I'm really, really hoping to find the motivation to finish it. I'm close - I think I could wrap it up in two or three chapters - but I keep getting discouraging feedback on it (not from people like you, you're always very sweet). I'll try to get the last chapters written and just post 'em up to conclude the story. That worries me, though, because it's not a happy ending - not a tragic ending, by any means, but if you're expecting a magical healing, you're in for disappointment. *laughs*

Really, I just want folks to enjoy the arc. You've been a dear and helped me enjoy it. I'll try to finish it up and get it posted for you to read.

tl;dr: thank you for the encouragement! You're a sweetie. ♥

Heh.

Personally, I'd say write first for yourself, and let other's opinions sway you only after that if you like. If you're not involved in the story on a personal creative level and unless you personally want to see it completed, it's harder to find the motivation. I'd think most people should understand that. (Which is why beating yourself up too bad about unfinished works is not liable to help things.)

As for the 'happiness' comment; by no means take that as an overall preference as to how your story should end. It is nice to see a happier moment, but those remain significant in serious storylines because of their fleeting nature and rarity. I've had 'bad' or tragic endings in fic myself/ have them planned, and it can be upsetting to the deeply invested reader, but don't let that scare you off. Some of the best stories to be told have those qualities or heavy elements throughout, (See: Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road') and when people throw tantrums over character death or 'unwarned for bad endings', it's pretty childish, imo. Oh wow, thank you! I re-read the entire arc before writing this chapter, since it's been so long since I worked on the arc. I should really finish it up - it's so close to being finished!

Thank you for the encouragement, dear! I'm really glad to hear that you like the arc. :) ♥

Wow, I just inhaled this whole thing. I haven't read a fic in months.

I could probably sustain off GS4 fanfics like this alone if it came to it. So glad you're updating again. I hope so much that you finish this!

I'm pretty well determined to just FINISH the thing. It's been on my mental to-do list so long it's collecting dust rabbits! Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed reading it. Makes me happy!
