Um. Hi guys. Remember me? That chic who said she'd have another chapter of this story posted back in ... July of 2008?
*cough* I'm only twenty-six months a little late in posting this up. Right?

I was dissapointed to not see if completed before, but that's the way fics work some times, and I totally understand the "real life happens" thing. There are things I've been working on slowly for years, or hope I could go back and pick up again.
Great to have you back, and the new chapter was touching and so much happier than previous events, they're adorable. Thanks for updating!

Personally, I'd say write first for yourself, and let other's opinions sway you only after that if you like. If you're not involved in the story on a personal creative level and unless you personally want to see it completed, it's harder to find the motivation. I'd think most people should understand that. (Which is why beating yourself up too bad about unfinished works is not liable to help things.)
As for the 'happiness' comment; by no means take that as an overall preference as to how your story should end. It is nice to see a happier moment, but those remain significant in serious storylines because of their fleeting nature and rarity. I've had 'bad' or tragic endings in fic myself/ have them planned, and it can be upsetting to the deeply invested reader, but don't let that scare you off. Some of the best stories to be told have those qualities or heavy elements throughout, (See: Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road') and when people throw tantrums over character death or 'unwarned for bad endings', it's pretty childish, imo. I could probably sustain off GS4 fanfics like this alone if it came to it. So glad you're updating again. I hope so much that you finish this!
