Fullmetal Alchemist, "Everyone Together, All Alone," Nash/Belsio, R

I worked on this story during one of the lowest emotional periods I've had in a long, long time. Finished it up on what I think is probably (hopefully) the upswing of it. It's probably not my best fiction, but I like it, nonetheless.

Fulfills 20_inkspots prompt #10, "Emotions Arise," although I was shooting for another prompt entirely when I started out. ( Read more... )

fletcher, fanfiction, belsio, russel, r, nash, fma

I like how John comes full circle with his emotions, the jealousy he feels and with what he feels it for (his trees, Nash, etc.) It's realistic (I seem to use that word a lot with your stories) and sweet how at peace he finds himself after.

Poor John, he gets forgotten, I think, in the mess of emotions Nash and the boys go through. I'm really glad you liked his moment in the spotlight, hon! ♥

Thanks for reading!

>>Whatever irritation he may have felt towards his lover melts into something else, something warm beneath his breastbone. He smiles... John finds himself-for the first time in years-to be at peace.<<

from anger, jealousy and a lonesome desperation- to a feeling of belonging and love.

Are you setting us up to believe that there could be a happy ending; only to yank it away from us- or might John, Nash, Russell and Fletch have a real family and deserved happy ending?
I guessed I'll have to read on if I want to know.
GREAT chapter- Intense, Reflective, Desperation, Anger, Love, Loneliness, Etc...quite the drama.

Hmm ... the ending is sad, but not tragic. Also, it's not finished or posted yet, so you're safe to read on. No one dies, I'll tell you that much. ^_~

I'm glad you liked this one, hon! It came out pretty easily, considering the state I was in when I wrote it. Good to know I don't have to sweat blood to get writing that you enjoy. XD

Thanks for reading! ♥

The nightmare about Mugear in this story is one hell of a strong image. It's a horrifying image of its own -- and more so when you realize that it symbolizes what *could* have happened to Russell and Fletcher, and Nash's guilt about the boys following the same path as him.

And the structure of the story regarding John works fantastically, moving from loneliness and despair to peace -- it's sort of a microcosm of what the whole family went through.

(I'd like to know how many comments of yours I've replied to today, so horribly late. It's got to be quite a few, by now! >_< *slacker*)

The nightmare about Mugear was real: I woke in the nighttime, disoriented, and thought my wall was spewing spiders. Took awhile for me to get over it and go back to sleep!

I'm really glad you liked this, hon. Really. It's the basis for the John/Greg universe, by the way ... that book will be called Everyone Together, All Alone. ♥
