Hajime no Ippo, "Time To Move On," Kimura/Miyata, Ippo/Umezawa, PG

Something about running this program makes me write fic like a woman possessed, I swear ... but really, is anyone complaining?

I wanted to be able to communicate a time setting in the story itself, but I'm not sure I've done it well enough, so allow me to explain beforehand:

This takes place approximately seven years after the end of the series. ( Read more... )

umezawa, ippo, kimura, miyata, pg, fanfiction, hajime no ippo, aoki, takamura

I most definitely *do* understand where this fic is coming from. And I can see it happening in canon -- Kamogawa cares enough about his fighters to want to take care of them even from beyond the grave. (He wouldn't take kindly to any jerks taking over his gym, either!)

Takamura as a coach is very fitting . . . and a bit scary.

Kamogawa is seriously my favorite character from Ippo. Crazy old men FTW! Crazy but loving ... which if you think about it is totally what he's groomed Takamura to be.

Hehe, Coach Takamura ... scary indeed. XD

Heh - another fandom I know nothing about, but gosh I find your stories fascinating. Takamura is disgusting (sticking his finger back up his nose after it's been in his underpants made me laugh) and obnoxious and I really liked him regardless. I like his gruff support of Ippo. And the way that for all he's loud and rude, he's not actually mean.

Fun story!

Oh wow, thank you hon! Nobody reads my Ippo, stuff, so this was quite a surprise to find in my inbox this morning!

Sadly, that's just how Takamura is, in canon. He's very gross, but very loving in that rough kind of way. I'm glad that came through, especially for someone who doesn't know the canon at all. (Although, you should try to get ahold of the series and watch at least some of it ... it's an awesome, awesome series.)

Thanks so much for reading, dear! I'm so glad you liked this! ♥

(PS: In my icon, Takamura's the guy on the right. And shockingly, he's completely heterosexual ...)

OMG - is that actually from the *show*??? Wait - which one is he? The one pulling or the one getting pulled? And is that really what it looks like? But, WHY? Why are they handling each other like that?

I think I will have to check out this show... :-o

My experience with anime is pretty much limited to the classics like Akira and Demon City Shinjuku, a bunch of kids stuff like "My Neighbor Totoro", and the occasional series like Blue Seed. I liked Ranma 1/2, too. I don't know any of the more modern stuff.

Ooooh. *licks lips* Ippo would be a good series for you, I think. It's got good manly characters, a good dose of crack, and a wonderful plot that just ... holds together better than most anime plots do.

And yes, that's from the series. XD Takamura is the disgusting world-title-hopeful boxer who takes the main character, Ippo, under his wing. He is AWESOME, but gross. XD

Here's more of Takamura, picknig on Ippo ... and The full-size shot of the ... "pulling". NOT worksafe. XD

Let me know if you'd like to see the series. I know a few places where you can get ahold of it!

Sorry, I liked this, but my minds blanking and I gotta ask... who's Umezawa?

Hahahaha! He's the boy who bullies Ippo in the first episode, then later becomes his cheerleader and helps out with the fishing boat business so Ippo can continue boxing.
