I keep meaning to close my account, but I feel like I need it for reference material. I did back it up using LJ Archive several years ago, and I don't want a record of what's happened since, but I'm not sure if the file works or how I can be sure that I'm not completely obliterating when I destroy the account.
I was just reading your entries, and it sounds like things are going really well for you, and I"m glad to read it. I laugh now because when you talked about moving there I was like "no! The bay area is hell on earth!" I still kind of think so but one man's hell, etc. I am still here but vowing to leave before another freezing, smoky summer. I will find somewhere to say hello again one day!
I don't ever think I will close my account. I have almost 20 years of history here and I always keep coming back. I see no reason to close the account, even if it has become fairly stagnant. I also have a permanent account which was coveted in its day.
I'm trying to get back here and have posted a few times in recent months. It's kind of like wearing old shoes--still kind of comfortable but not very practical as a daily thing. My best to you, mistersmearcase, one of my very first LJ friends nearly twenty years ago. I'm looking at your userpic again for possibly the last time and at first seeing--again--what I think is a human heart but is really an old fainting lounge with pillows.
Hey, I'm glad to hear from you. I was thinking about the fact that we had known each other a long time in this partial way and didn't have hugely much in common but were LJ friends and read about each other's lives and that ain't nothin'. As you can see, I'm having trouble killing it off altogether...
