How did you behave?

I would never choose such a thing.

I value my mind. To manipulate it would be dangerous. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

[A long pause. The PCD will read text back to him out loud, but it's troublesome, and the robotic voice grates.]

You spend all your time searching for the very thing you've lost.

There... was a time, when I would probably have chosen to forget.

What changed?

...I've learnt how to appreciate memories.

What do you mean?

If someone is affected enough by a memory that they would make the choice to forget it, then of course it would change them. And really, what a foolish choice it would be.

Why do you say that?

Not so long ago, some of us lost parts of our memories. Nearly everyone wanted to remember. If something had affected you enough to make you want to forget it forever, and then you did, you would be changed - but the effect of the memory would remain. Only a fool wouldn't eventually notice that something was missing.

Can you imagine what trouble that could cause for the person affected?

I don't need to imagine, I've lived it.

Interestin' question. Sure, losin' an important memory would change ya... but anything you do can change ya. The question's more whether somebody thinks they'd like the change.

That's a very interesting perspective.

So why do ya ask? Curiosity?

Mostly. Perhaps I'm looking for advice.
