[Bobby'd gone out for a jog that morning - joking with Raven earlier about her running aside, he really does need to keep up some aspects of his training. He likes jogging around the lake, anyway, especially because it means there was an ample supply of water nearby for him to work with when he feels like taking breaks

[Xanth, meanwhile, is just out enjoying the lake breeze. If he could ice the water the way Bobby did, he might have, but he could only let his legs dangle in the water.

As he walks along the sandy edge, barefoot and hair tied up, he spots Bobby. He raises an arm above his head to wave.]

H-Hey, Bo--

[Before he can finish, cuffs appear on the one hand, and a key suddenly pops into his other.]

Buh?

[He stares and then looks up to the figure of Bobby, still some distance away. Does he spy cuffs on Bobby, too...?

He starts jogging Bobby's way.]

Um! H-Hey!

[It's the definitely that makes all the difference in the probably.]

I'm really hoping for something like a few hours. Maybe a day, at most.

[He grimaces slightly.]

I was going to suggest looking for another way out of these, but I really can't think of any right now.

Y-Yeah...

[Sigh.]

I-I guess we just-- k-kill time, a-at, at this point.

Wh-what were you... doing n-next?

[Bobby agrees, but then, that's kind of what he's been doing a lot here, anyway.]

I was thinking about freezing over some of the water on the edge of the lake, actually, trying to get some ice skating in.

[Xanth looks over the lake just a little uneasily.]

W-Well, we, w-we could... still try? I-I mean-- I've never a-actually... you know... d-done that, but...

[He just doesn't want to end up in a heap on the ice.]

[Bobby smiles at that, but frowns a little at the uneasy look.]

Are you sure? I mean, ice skating's a lot of fun and I love showing people how do to it and stuff, but we don't have to if you'd rather not.

[Or if it makes him uncomfortable.]

Y-Yeah, I'm, I-I'm sure. I just, I-I'm not-- I don't want to t-take you down-- down with me, you... you know?

[mister_10_below]

[His smile returns at that.]

Oh! Don't worry, you won't. Well, I'll do my best to make sure you won't, anyway.

As-- a-as long as you-- kn-know the risks.

[He looks out over the lake, then gestures with his free hand.]

You-- y-you ready?

[mister_10_below]

Consider me suitably warned.

[He nods at that, starting towards the lake.]

Definitely! Oh, uh, when we get to the edge of the lake, we should probably take a seat so it'll be easier for me to get skates on us.

O-Oh, uh, o--okay. So-- uh-- i-ice? I-Ice skating o-on ice, w-with ice?

[Is that dangerous? It won't shatter, right?

All the same, when they get to the edge of the lake, Xanth'll take a seat. (Hopefully, without taking Bobby down too.)]

[Bobby smiles a bit at that, because he thinks he knows where Xanth was heading.]

Don't worry. My ice can be a lot stronger than regular ice. I don't even use regular skates back home.

[There's a moment where he almost goes down with Xanth, but he catches his balance and goes with it to sit down next to him.

Then he reaches over with his free hand to create ice blades on the bottom of his shoes, before turning to do the same to Xanth's.]

[Xanth watches Bobby put the blades on both of their shoes, and it's still incredible.]

I-- I-I don't know if... that'll e-ever stop being r-really awesome.

[But now he's left with the question of, how does he stand on these?]

[And yet another reason why Bobby adores Xanth, because he thinks what Bobby can do is awesome. Not that Bobby disagrees, but it's still nice.]

Thanks, man.

[Then he eyes their handcuffs.]

Okay, so, uh. I'll go ahead and stand, get my balance, then pull you up?

[stillseecracks]

Y-Yeah, o-- okay. Sounds-- sounds better th-than risking me-- taking us b-both down.

[It would happen. Xanth might not weigh much but he's got enough mass to off-balance someone!]

Or at least less of a risk than that.

[He's grinning while he says it. Then he stands, taking a moment to get his balance on the ice, before reaching down to help pull Xanth up.]
