I hear your laugh like a serenade
So I have a job. I don't get paid much but I am now an editorial assistant for a small literary journal. The cool thing is I get to do a lot of different kinds of editing (from simple copyediting to the more important developmental editing) and I get to work from home. Although working from home is working against me right now. And the abundance of friend time I've had this week.
The other awesome thing is it just got picked up by a publisher in the UK for this issue (will be published in November) so my name will be listed as editorial assistant in an internationally published journal.
Friend time this week... Tuesday I watched the rifftrax of Star Trek with Brittany which was super nerdy and fun. Yesterday I wandered through East Lansing with Steph and had good chatty times. Today I'm going to beer rhetoric... Friday Steph might come over to watch Choke with me. And Saturday I think I'm going to a movie with Emily B. I am so not used to all this socialization at once but I do love spending time with awesome people! :)
So I have decided to start doing this 30 day meme because it looks like fun and it will keep me updating. Here is day one~

I love music and I have many favourite songs... So I will post my current favourite song for your enjoyment.
I'm not really a Dixie Chicks fan but I heard this song in an episode of True Blood and I knew I had to have it. It is absolutely beautiful from the lyrics to the music. Parts of the song always bring certain images to my mind: hanging freshly laundered sheets out to dry outside and living in a cottage in the middle of no where... then crawling into bed later with those fresh sheets smelling unbelievably good. Mmm. Peaceful, simple, beautiful, comforting.

In other nerd news I beat Portal -- which is a hilarious and awesome game! I really want to buy my own weighted companion cube now.
Oh, and I saw Iron Man 2 Friday and it was good and I got recced an amazing Iron Man fic and so now I've been reading some Iron Man fic... Heh. I blame Robert Downey Jr's sexiness.
