Bah. Mr. Wald.

Im sure if you talked with him one-on-one, he'd give really good advice without being mean. He doesn't seem like a mean critique-giver.

Also, if he is, ignore it and talk to Lois instead. She's really great at that.

Guess who got accepted to not just one, but SEVERAL art schools? That's right, it's you.
You've got to know that you're good regardless of what people say. Because you have the talent and there will always, ALWAYS be someone who doesn't like your stuff and there will ALWAYS be someone better than you, but you have to work through that.
Art is yours. It doesn't belong to anyone else. I'm not syaing that criticism is never justified, but take the constructive and work with it in ways you see fit and the rest doesn't matter.
We all have different viewpoints, and some things that are considered masterpieces I would shrug at.
Just don't worry about it so much. Do art to make YOU happy. If you like it, then that's enough. If ou feel the composition is right, that's enough, you know?

If he isn't giving you constructive criticism, then look at what you've made, and critique it yourself. How can you make your next painting better? Because you can make it better, and you will make it better.

Bah, he can blow the big one. Like someone else said, you've been accepted by numerous colleges who think otherwise, all of us included. You're going places. You shouldn't tune out negative criticism (and I know you don't), but keep your bullshit detector on at all times for this kind of stuff.

And now you're going to go post this painting up right now.
