I made an Alice in Wonderland signature last week as a gift, and I've been using the graphic myself on TDA. It's been complimented, which is nice. Right?
Now what do I suddenly see a lot more of? Alice in Wonderland signatures. Very much like mine, too. Yes, there aren't that many promo pics from the movie yet, but really, these graphics are

*hugs* It is a pretty awesome Alice in Wonderland sig (by the way). I don't see how any copies could compare to yours.

Thanks. *blushes* It's one of the few new graphics of mine that I actually like, which is probably why I'm miffed about copycats. ;)

The Alice sig is really pretty, but I have seen many of them around lately. Its the new trend I guess. Though I've noticed other graphics that I thought I knew who they belonged to and then when I realized they didn't...x_o
I can see how it can be really annoying though. Making something that no one else has and then BAM 50 more people have it the next day. That can get really irritating.

I did notice a sudden burst of sigs just like yours and thought it was werid.
Someone said to me today, that when we start copying eachother and start being all the same, we lose our identity. We lose what makes us stand out. And that in a comunity like TDA is not a very good thing. Because if you have something like everyone else's, nobody will notice you.
People should understand that. People get carried away with the trends and that is not a good thing for them, and the person who originated it.
I'm still an MA at TDA, and I'm still trying out new stuff, so this might seem hipocritical if you go check my gallery. I don't have a style or an identity defined yet, there.
Anyway, I'm sorry you feel that you have to keep changing your style so much, Susan, because of copycats.
As for the rest of the list, I try to be a good member, but when it comes to the fancy stuff, I can't restrain myself. Most of the times, is by trying fancy stuff, that I learn to do basic things. :P

It is sad to see the lack of originality sometimes - it's something I seem to constantly come across at TDA, maybe due to seeing all the galleries every month. Sometimes, it's hard to tell two artists apart, and I've had to deny promotion to some because of it. :(
It's kind of different when you're an MA or even a JA because you're still learning and trying out the styles of other artists is a natural part of the process. I feel like a hypocrite now complaining about a lack of originality when, as I was working on my own style, I copied that of everyone else. XD Even now I go "I want to try that", but I guess because I've been going for so long, it still looks like my own, no matter how much inspiration I have.
Haha, so there is a method to the madness of being fancy. :P I'm glad to hear that it helps you in the long run.
