Just watched that now (forgotten to check out his reviews for weeks). I'd actually not noticed his first point, possibly bad of me there, though I'm not sure, possibly that could be explained somewhat by the location and the related choice of secondary villians following on to the henchmen.
Anyhow, I suppose he's right about the lack of originality though not having played Gears of Wars I didn't notice that re game mechanics, and for the story, well yes, it's nothing astoundingly original but with that genre they all follow well established cliches, didn't prevent me form enjoying it because it's decent enough for a game. :)
I should probably mention that Zero Punctuation always reviews games focusing on faults - I take it from the point of view that if I think I can live with the problems in the game that he finds, I might really like the game!
