To me Nick tearing up the photo was him giving up and trying to be strong - after all he's probably reasoning that he's no better than Helen if he goes messing with the time lines for his own ends.

However I think he's finished the series a quite broken man in many ways (buried his friend, given up on finding the woman he loves...)

I really felt for him and I hope one the plot threads next year is that as he starts to learn about the anomalies he sees he can put things right.

At the moment I feel like I'm going to spend the next few months just saying 'poor Nick... :('

Yep, he does seem quite broken (and it's mainly Helen's fault, so I hope he sees that). At least once positive is he's gotten over Helen and might have a chance with Jenny maybe. But also, think of teh fics that can be written! Ansty fun, and also, delicious hurt/comfort others helping him out of his despair *cough*Jenny*cough ( ... )

Jenny really has been sidelined this season and it will be interesting to see what they do with her next. I'm still uncertain if Nick just blanking her offer of a drink is a sign of things to come - will she end up liking him and he's not interested?

And will she even comment on what Helen was saying so blatantly in front of her about Claudia? Wouldn't it be weird (a somehow oddly fitting) if Jenny - who mentioned specifically that she's been feeling different - decides that she wants things put right so she can go back to being who she is supposed to (oooo! fic bunny!)

Assuming Helen's 'friends' at the end were just a bunch of handy helper clones, I don't think her plan is for clone Stephen. I think she's going to start her research and try to change things to bring him back - and if she has that research, does that mean Nick can get in there and use it to put things to how they were supposed to be. After all, he is dead against changing the future and yet that has already been done...

Don't know what they intend for Jenny but shall be interesting for next season and for fic. :D

I wasn't thinking Helen plans to clone Stephen - think one of him is more than enough, she couldn't quite keep her control of him before - just mess with timeline as you pointed out. I'm sure she can think of a way to work it into her research. Might sound a bit cold but I think she's appearing less humanised more and more - like the proper mad scientist intent on answers who takes little regard for the impact, but has a soft spot for a few.

I hope next season Nick and the team actually work out what's going on with the why and not just where. I'd be thrilled in the ARC researchers actually managed to figure out something useful on their own but not holding my breath for their inclusion and competancy.

lmao I never thought about the keyboard bit, but yeah, that was yet another piece of visual aid for the audience.

That final scene was unexpected ~ I half thought when they'd all gone Stephen would turn up in some form or another. If Helen's planning on messing with the anomalies to bring Stephen back, and even talked about it with Nick, isn't it plausable to think she may have done so already?
