A very, very good piece. I love The Common People pieces written around a show. Because Brian isn't a heartless man for having moved on when he was the one abandoned (details or no). This is brilliant and amazing

I like writing about the other characters in the show and it felt like Brian deserved a little fic. I was a bit shocked to hear from the episode commentaries for season 2 that they got hatemail about him! I mean, it wasn't good for Lily but it's important not to forget what a tough deal the families of the 4400 got as well. So, my muse hatched onto the idea of explaining his side of what happened, poor guy.

I enjoyed this! It's true that Brian was an insensitive bastard to Lily when she first came back, but it's also true that she had already destroyed his life once by diappearing. The fact that it was against her will doesn't really change anything. Brian's not a bad guy at all, and I'm glad he finally got his side of the story told!
